Oh! So this IS different from the drainage tubing I'm talking about. Yes Sherry. The concept of the product your talking about is the same, but the product is different . Your tube won't make a tight 90* bend. Where as the Flex-Drain will. However the tube you have will lock in to elbow, Ts, and Y shaped connectors. So if you wanted to you could get much tighter bends. The great thing about Flex-Drain for me is that 25' of it closes down to a 10' tube. It's a big space saver. Mike

That design occupied them for a few weeks. The tubes are by far their favorite toy. How do you get yours to stay closed down? We tried to do ours a few times and it always pops back out.

After you shrink it down tie it with a piece of twine. Mike

Anyone know where you can get this sort of thing in Australia? I've been looking! I have some white drainage tubing but it's something like 10 cms diameter, too small for my big guy.

I'm sorry that this has nothing to do with answering your question tundra, but I found something the other night I thought could be useful to everyone here. There is actually another (cheaper) source for the flexible clear tubes. People are always describing them as "the ones that look like clear dryer vent tubes". Guess what? There are actually clear dryer vent tubes. I've never been able to source them locally, but I did find this website. Just for experimentation purposes I put 3 of them in my cart and had it calculate shipping. To me, here in Georgia, I could get 3 of them (including shipping) for just a couple bucks over the price that our usual pet store charges for one! Available -here- or through -this Amazon.com link- for a couple bucks more.

Yeah, Sherry it is MUCH easier to work with. Canadian Tire is selling it now in 20' lengths. I've picked some up and played with it a bit but still have to install it (maybe over Christmas if I have time).
Tako, the dryer vent tubes are a softer plastic and depending on your ferrets well not last very long.

Oh, I know that about them being softer plastic and less durable, but I also know some people who keep buying them simply because they love to be able to watch what their woozle is doing in at least one of their tubes. I figured I'd share the links I had found to the much cheaper version for any who still like to buy the occasional clear bendy tube.

My husband was talking about doing tubing through out the house after we move into our new place. Do they have this stuff in a clear form? It would be cool to be able to see them running on the ceiling.

The see-through tubes will usually be a softer plastic and if your ferrets like to dig inside the tunnels, it may not be safe to suspend those on the ceiling because they may create a hole and fall out.

I have this one (well, part of one, I split it with some other ferrents), it's clear and flexible and heavy duty: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006FKJD2The funniest thing is Maisie likes scratching her back on it, so she'll go through on her back and go back and forth. I don't have much experience with tubing, but it's the kind my local ferret shelter uses, so I'm guessing it's a good choice. Maisie & I certainly like it.
