If hijacked threads were always this hilarious, I think we would start encouraging people to do so. Finn looks just exactly like my Franklin! Same color, same sleek athleticism, and apparently the same hyper vigilant demeanor. ;D He has been raw fed all his life, but will only eat soup. It amazes me that he was able to get so darn fat just eating soup twice a day, limited amount, and no snacks between meals. He and Patty clean the bowl and go looking for more, so it's not like they're gorging themselves... Frank has lost a bit of weight though, since I stopped making "duck" soup.
Lucy has about the same body type as Enigma, and I'm glad to hear people saying that that is a good weight. My gut says she's perfect, since she is so active and athletic, but my husband worries that when she is standing, you can see the hollow behind her ribs instead of that area being more filled out. She is the only ferret I have known that actually has a waist! She is also the only ferret I have known that can scamper vertically straight up to the top of a six foot cat tree. . I haven't tried to get a weight on her, but I'd guess she 's right about a pound.
Also good to know it's normal for ferrets to lose their baby fat. We started calling our newest boy "Monster Chuck," since as a baby he was almost as big as Frank. It kind of worried me when he lost a bunch of weight and is turning out to be a much smaller guy than we thought he would.
So glad I found this forum again!
