Little bugger walked over, sniffed it, then sat waiting for her turkey(which she did NOT get I think I'll pick up a small pack of salmon to mix in. That's what got her interested in the first place.

How is it going with Ligeia now? Curious to know if she still has moments of vomiting or not. In my experience, some cats' stomach acids are chronically alkaline from a life of eating dry kibbles, and the high acid content is needed to get bone soft enough to pass into their much smaller intestinal tract - so if the grind is very coarse on the brand you are using, it might be the bone itself that is the problem. Something finer ground could help in the interim until her stomach acids are back up to speed. I do like NV for this reason, it is very finely ground and gentle on the stomach for those still getting their bodies adjusted to raw. Just a thought, I hope she has gotten back on her raw and needs none of my nose butting in!!

Actually, she still won't eat anything except the turkey or chicken, both of which make her vomit And it is a fine grind that we use, so no larger chunks of bone. Thank heavens they've all been kibble free for a number of years now(except Herne who has only been about a year). They eat Wellness canned.

Poor girl!! They can certainly be frustrating, can't they? I wouldn't think she's physically allergic or intolerant to chicken and turkey since she eats Wellness cans, right? If digestive enzymes and probiotics haven't made a difference (and my thought would be they wouldn't since she's vomiting soon after eating, before the food even breaks down;) Wysong makes a supplement that re-acidifies the stomach and body which might help bring her stomach up to speed for the raw. I use it with Elsie and Quinn occasionally, especially post-antibiotics after a urinary tract infection. Elsie gets a very sensitive tummy while on antibiotics and probiotics don't help because they're intended for the intestinal tract and not the stomach... but like Ligeia, she would vomit immediately after eating. The Biotic pH helps a lot in that instance. I would suggest mixing it into her canned food for a week or so, and then try again with raw, mixing it in. www.wysong.net/products/ph+dog-cat-supplement.php

I don't know but with my cats we attempted to raw feed nature's variety - and they vomitted it up. I suspect they don't chew it, and even though its finely ground there is still gristle and small bone bits in it. So yeah I blame the texture, because it's not totally smooth like pate canned food.

Cats don't chew their food, so I do rip up or cut up their foods most of the time, or my guys will eat too quickly. Sometimes breaking up the patties into pieces and then feeding one piece at a time helps their tummies. Feeding small amounts about fifteen minutes apart can also help.
