My heart is broken.
I recently broke up with my boyfriend and chose to move back in with my mom. For me, the move was a wise decision. Unfortunately it has put the ferrets in a very tough spot. I haven't had my little guys for long but in such a short time I have grown so attached to them.
My sister also recently moved in with my mother, we each have a dog of our own... there are now four dogs living in this house. Thankfully they have no issue with me keeping my border collie but she just feels that adding two ferrets to the home will be too much. I have tried reasoning with her but in the end this is her house and I have to feel lucky that I have a safe place to lay my head at night.
Right now the ferrets are still at my ex's house. He isn't a bad guy and he isn't intentionally mistreating them but he doesn't feel the same about animals as I do. They hardly ever get out of cage time now and their boxes are only changed when it gets smelly. I went over there yesterday and it just crushed me knowing that they aren't living the life I want for them.
I'm not ready to give up on them yet. I am still trying to do everything in my power to get them here or at least get them somewhere better until I can take them back. I guess, until I decide for sure that I cannot keep them, I'm just feeling out the waters. Are there any people on this forum living in Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming or even Montana that would be willing to consider taking in two healthy, raw-fed ferrets? Again, I'm still trying to truly decide in my heart if re-homing is what is best for all of us.
Finn is my youngster, born in December. He was my rescue baby and he is just the sweetest little pork belly ever. Fiona is my little girl, she is between 2-3 years old and a total sweetheart. She has the softest, most beautiful silver coat and she loves to just snuggle in your arms. If I do end up having to rehome them I do not want them separated or taken off their raw diet. They are just thriving on it.
If I do end up deciding to rehome I would be more than willing to part with their cage. Its homemade but it is huge and we haven't had any issues with it at all. This, of course, would be free of charge. It is about 6ft X 4ft X 2ft. Here is the thread I made when we finished it.

Here is a little bit about each of the ferrets if you want to read more. Keep in mind, these pictures are before the raw switch and they look SO AMAZING now.

Thank you so much for reading this. I am open to any ideas or suggestions you have. I don't want to lose my babies but I do want what is best for them. I'm just so devastated over the whole thing.
