I wouldn't worry. He is just letting you know that the chicken neck is his. How old is he? If he is a baby, you will want to feed him as much as he will eat. Also some are big time hissers. My Mika loves to hiss, I've seen her hiss at a toy. (giggle)

At 3 months he will likely eat a lot more than 4oz a day then! Just keep feeding him until he stops eating. It's also a good idea to get him used to a feeding den at this age so he gets used to stashing in there

Hi I second what sherry has said a kit of three months will get through closer to 8-10 oz a day without any problem split the meals into three to four meat meals through out the day leaving a a decent amount in the cage last thing at night as ferrets eat more during the dusk to dawn hours back to the subject of nasty animals when fed meat it made me smile as I was watching a tv program a few weeks ago where vets tried to solve problems with different animals and two stupid vets advised a couple to place there ferrets on kibble to stop biting ( we are talking about a 14 week kit lol ) the couple tried then came back 3 months later to report the kibble didnt work but a ferret keeper had given them a diet sheet with meat meals and the kit was now content the guy had also told them the reason it bit was it was hungry and also pushing through teeth once given meat and whole prey it was satisfied and also it had something to stimulate its brain lol result two red faced vets lol take care bye for now Bev

My little Bleu barked and hissed at me the first time I showed him a game hen wing. That is his way of saying "that looks good gimmeeee"

I introduced chicken wings to my kits today for the first time and they were at each others throats it seemed. It's the first time I've seen either of them be aggressive with each other at all. And based on the videos, perhaps it's okay? I separated them in the moment because it really freaked me out.
