Just got Timmy home! He def has clostridium. My mother actually had that about 9 years ago. It a bacteria normally found in the intestines and can go way out of wack with over growth. It can eat away at the lining of the stomach and intestines. So the vet had given him fluids for a little dehydration and sent me home with 4 dif meds to kill the intestine buggies and to help heal any ulcers caused by it. She also gave me a high cal food to give him. I checked it and it's grain free. She also talked with me about the raw diet. She said she was worried about just getting soups and chicken wings so far, and was suggesting a whole prey diet. LOL I told her, "oh yeah no, this is just what they've been getting to get them switched. they WILL be on a whole prey model and whole prey once they are fully switched. That way they get all the organs and stuff." We talked for a while about it and she was impressed with how much I know about it. She said she supports a raw diet as long as it's done right. So, any way, Timmy I think will be fine and hopefully THIS time the meds will get his digestive tract back in line. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! ETA: Also if anyone knows a home made pedialite type stuff I could give him to help keep him hydrated would be great! Thank you!

Electrolyte Recipe 2 litres of water or chicken broth...stock not bovril or gravy makers 1 tbs of sugar or honey (this is minimal when you think about it and necessary for balance 1/2 tsp of sea salt stir in boiling water or broth to dissolve Personally, I've found that the chicken broth is much better received and will be drank by even the sickest fuzz from a syringe. ciao

Good for Timmy, and it's great that you've got a vet who's open to a natural diet!
