Having three ferrets almost cost the same as just one. We had 5 ferrets and they all shared the food and it costed the same. When rob got lymphoma and we didn't have the 600+ $ for a vet bill, that was the problem. we thought it was a blockage but it was a mass amount of tumors and one large one. But JL is not that common. even though Rob came from GCFA, it does not mean that it will happen again. Lymphoma is not as common as people think, we may have 3 ferrets in the whole shelter that have it.
Anyway, we have some kits now that are alone(if rocky is still there, OMG you would LOVE him!!) but i don't know how many. they come and go throughout the week but i think both Barnabas and Rocky are still there Barnabas is 10 months and Rocky is 8 months
You know, only you know your limit. Ferrets are expensive critters. most people here will agree the costs of maintaining 3 ferrets is not significantly more than one or 2. It's the vet bills, the emergencies.

Exaaaaaaaaactly. Ainslie's already costly. I think her ear mites like her ears too much. I might go back and just get 'em checked again *sigh* And I already spent way too much this month in trying to prepare for a new kit thats coming around the first week of july...
Me too! Truth be told I'm gonna be kind of irritated if I do an 8 hour round trip and he doesn't find someone he likes. ;D Stiv, do you think they'd be able to give me an appointment Monday? I plan on calling tomorrow, but I don't know how booked they usually are.
I have an appointment next Sunday at 1 The woman was really helpful and friendly. I just need to pick up a second carrier so if I do bring home a new baby I don't have to worry about any issues in the car.
Ferrets: Contessa Kitties: Watson, Oskar DIP Sinnead, Vincent, Boris, Zeus and Athena, Willow, Mr. Frodo, Indie, Lucrezia, Judge, Odin, Miss Emily, Suki, Cody, Aristotle, Butterscotch, Frankenfurter. RIP Herne, Ligeia, and Mr. Stubbs
Did you talk to Moira?!?! she told me about you! i was in today and i saw your appt!! Rocky is still at the shelter, single male, silver, NOT ECE YET *knocks on wood* he is 9 months old!! She was like, there is this person that has a ferret named remus and i was like YES! she did make the appt! and then she said "you know this person?" and i laughed, "forum Friend" ;D
I don't know if i can make it next sunday but i will TRY!
Awesome! I forgot to ask her, what should I bring? I'm planning on getting a second carrier for the ride home, bringing food/water for both babies, ferrettone, and Remus' harness and leash. Do you know what kind of kibble the GCFA fuzzbutts are on?
They are all on a mix of kibbles depending on the ferret. What does Remus eat? The more common foods are marshalls and totally ferret, then it is 8 in 1, then zupreem, then EVO. Some are on cat food as well just because we cannot get them to eat the good kibbles
You have everything good for the trip i don't think it will be to hot but maybe two or three frozen water bottles might be good if it is. wrap them in a towel and you have an air conditioned fuzzy!
Rescue remedy is good if you have it but tone is fine. Depending on the ferret to, music is good. Hagrid LOVES the beatles for some reason! i don't honestly know why, when he is in the car, he will sit on our laps and calm down when we play beatles ;D
Do most pet stores have RR or should I order it off a site? I had been hoping to go this week cause it's so much cooler than it has been. I know fans don't work for ferrets but AC would, right? Since it actually lowers the temp of the car?
