Well, I'm going to be getting my first 2 ferrets soon and I just have a couple questions about whole prey. I'm still contemplating whether or not I'll feed them whole or raw, but I'm leaning more towards Whole because I'm still confused on raw. If I were to feed them whole, I would probably give each of them a frozen mice daily. Would one a day be enough or should it be two? Kibble will be available to them all the time for snacking and whatnot, but my main question is one mice a day enough? And if I were to feed them raw, how much or what should I feed them on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on so that they get the proper amount of in-bone, muscle and organ? I will be posting my raw question on the raw forum probably, just put it on here in case anyone wanted to answer it Thanks so much!

One mouse a day won't do it mine will eat anywhere from 2-3 medium size per meal. I feed twice a day. They would also need a minimum of 2 additional proteins- so include rats, quail, rabbit, guinea pig, etc. All whole prey is also cost prohibitive for most. For raw, take a look through the archives in "natural diet". At or near the end if every thread is a menu. It will give you a better idea of a balanced diet you can also apply for a mentor for one on one help

If you're going to feed whole prey, it can get costly. You have to feed a minimum of 3 different types of prey. My guys get mice, rats, quail and rabbit. How much you feed depends on your ferrets. My wee girlies eat 2 mice (these are adult mice, baby prey is ok for a snack but has little nutritional value), my boys can eat up to 4. My wee UK 'binos think nothing of nomming on 10 between the pair (this is a daily ration). Most people feed twice daily. If these are babies....the sky's the limit. They eat everything. They are little tummies with very sharp teeth and very big appetites ciao
