Made one order from hare today, in the winter with 3 day ground shipping and everything arrived still frozen, I live in cold climates, I wouldn't risk that in the summer but nice to save some money on shipping. Everything came nicely labeled, with nutritional info on the bags. Organs, and duck/rabbit pieces came in large blocks I had to chop smaller for my use. They are overpriced on some items like whole guinea pigs but overall prices were comparable or less than my grocery store and a great option if you need organs. Most of their stuff is ground which I don't use though.

I've been ordering from Hare Today for over a year and have never had any problems -even living in Florida and using UPS ground shipping, They do a really good job of packing it with enough cold packs to keep it safe. Sometimes it' a little "soft" but it's never been completely thawed or warm. I have noticed that the larger the order the better the meat stays frozen. Considering the cost of shipping, I usually order 18 - 20 pounds at a time. Less isn't cost effective and more is too much for me to store (not to mention picking up the box )

I order 30-35 lbs from HareToday every 2-3 months. My guys tend to not eat bone unless it's ground/ blended in with the meat, so the large variety of course ground mixtures of muscle, bone and organ is great for us! I live in Florida and use the three day ground shipping and have never had any thawing even when FedEx left my package sitting outside in 85 degree weather while I wasn't home. When I opened my very first package from them, I was surprised by how little dry ice they use to keep the package frozen, but like Glynus said, the larger orders seem to keep themselves frozen really well! The orders are always nicely labeled and I've only had one incident of something being damaged - the quail eggs come in a plastic jar that had cracked in shipping. Overall I would say Haretoday is great for organs and the ground mixtures, I probably would NOT recommend them for whole prey items

i live on the opposite side of the state from them...used 2-day shipping and made sure the order was big enough to completely fill the box...
first order early march temps 40's-50's and anything at the side of the box was partially thawed - package was left inside the building in an unheated vestibule. only 2 rinkydink freeze packs and just a tad of evidence of dry ice (barely a handful of crystals still solid). some bags had pin-holes in them and that became evident when i defrosted so i could break apart the chunks or pieces to make meal-portions. did give feedback and didn't think the response was the greatest - put it off to her having a bad day and tried again...
second order - which i left the tiniest bit of room in because i specifically asked for add'l freeze packs to be included & that i'd pay for the extra, still only had 2 rinkydink freeze packs and absolutely NO evidence of dry ice. yes, temps were high - it was late june and at least one day of the transit time was supposed to be almost 90 - thus the request for extra freeze packs. again, 2-day ship and package was left in the vestibule.
2/3 of the order was in some manner of a defrosted state - numerous bags had pin holes and three had gaping holes in them - one of them (the duck hearts) the product was completely defrosted and it was rotten & stunk to high heaven - and this bag was packed in the middle of the box, too. that was thrown out immediately. thank goodness i brought coolers with me (i have packages delivered to my work) as a few more bags with holes in them that were partially defrosted upon delivery were completely defrosted by the time i got home...and the liquid would have been all over my car if i hadn't put everything in the coolers. also rec'd chicken eggs instead of the quail eggs ordered - one container completely liquid upon arrival and the other halfway liquid. when i got home, i threw out 3 more bags. as i went through the products (i refroze everything as soon as i got home) i ended up throwing out more things because they either stunk when they were defrosted or the ferrets just wouldn't eat it (didn't smell to me, they have better noses than i do). so, i ended up trashing more than a third of the order.
the woman was extremely rude and insulting when i contacted her when i got this order...she was more concerned with leaving for her vacation that making an apology to an upset customer and rectifying the situation wasn't even an inkling of a thought anywhere in her mind. i only received a refund for that one bag of hearts - never got the refunds for the 2 bags of turkey necks, the one bag of chicken necks, the bag of rabbit chunks nor the two containers of eggs.
needless to say, i'll never order from there again.

so far I'd say really good experience. I had the largest order and it was sent out immediately. you can't get the organs etc in my parts , so this was really a good option. I saved a lot. the shipping was great, think it was hot all the way here and they have so much variety. All frozen. I'd imagine shipping eggs can be tough. I am unsure how one can do it. They can't cater to just ferrets and I have no problem chopping up the bigger pieces for the savings. If it was whole, i'd need to do the same. That's my personal experience. Everything was very frozen. Nothing was smelly, the more you add the more you save. Tons of products to choose from. I'd order from them again any day and my ferts are soon going to be jumping at me for din-din! made first "pastey lumpy soup" and I'd say they approve! Truly so much variety! Lovein it! I have so much to choose from, all came so frozen, you could almost shatter them, perhaps it was a big order ( don't know) but it was perfect! If anything changes i'll update,

I have had only good experience with Hare Today. I live on the East side of PA and Hare Today is the West side, takes 2 days for it to reach me. Everything is still frozen and packed well. I have found that you definitely want to order as much as possible. Once the "base charge" for shipping is in place, it goes up in price by pennies after that. So if you are ordering more, the price per pound averages out better and better with the larger orders.

I order 51 pounds at a time. I live in the Florida panhandle. So far nearly every order has arrived frozen solid. I had been ordering the 5 lb. grounds, but switched to the 1lb. for convenience on the last order. Price is the same. I've also ordered heart, no problem. The bags do sometimes have dings in them that will allow the bag to leak, so always put it in a bowl when thawing. I also like the salmon oil they sell. I haven't ordered in the summer yet. The rescue has been going through 2pounds a day with chicken wing supplements, so I order every 4-6 weeks.

Jadeguppy, you should check into trying BlueRidgeBeef instead of haretoday for the rescue. I used to pick it up at the wholesomehound in dothan, AL and it was SOOOO much cheaper for me. Their website says they are now selling at a store called "for Pet's Sake" in Dothan.

I've ordered from them twice - first time, rabbits and quails. The rabbits didn't go over well but the quail--let's just say my Hammie now loves quail more than me. The second time I ordered, I got a large order of quail. I am very pleased with them. I hope to continue to order quail from them for a long time to come.

55lb order shipped ups ground (ma, usa is one state over so shipping is only 2days for $30), two freezer pack, no dry ice, everything came frozen solid
ordered a bit of everything, so here's the rundown:
highly recommend the organs (they even have pancreas and lung!) and heart selection. (didn't order any ground mixes since my babies took straight to chunks)
small bones variety are still pretty big so will only get 3/4 meals from ea 2lb bags of goat, mutton (super fatty!), and llama so probably not worth the repeat (though my smoke really loves goat)
rabbit came in awesome 3" chunks sliced clean through, may buy a meat cleaver though my chef knife handled it pretty well, 2lb portion came out to 6 meals for two baby ferrets with voracious appetites
whole prey prices were pretty high, but again, great quality, large white mice ($40 for 25) are twice the size of Petco ($6 for 3) or Petsmart ($12 for 6); 2wk old quail was rather well received too – but really, think my broad will eat anything.
so will definitely order from them again, but might try another supplier for whole prey

you might want to try rodentpro for mice.
Large adult mice are .35 each right now. I just ordered Mice, Rabbit, quail, and chicken. 45 lb box shipped to California for $30.

thanks msav, after viewing rodent pro warnings floating around online due to compromised product in 2010 & 2012, figured it was safer to pass (especially since i have a 7yr old son), but seems to be a fair number of rodent pro fans on this forum so may give them a go once there's freezer space. took me 3 hours to process the last mail order!

I made my first order from Hare-Today last month, and was very happy. Even in high heat, everything was well frozen when it arrived. I selected for two day shipping to ensure it survived the hot summer.
They're a bit pricey, but I was pleased with the quality. I ordered a large selection that came to about 52lb. The Goat bones and half rabbit were a bit of a waste of money, because the bones were huge and I didn't feel comfortable giving them to Moe(my baby ferret.)
I am transitioning my four adults to raw, and the chicken breasts, heart and liver went over well with them for the transition.
I liked the wide selection - especially with the grinds. I will order again, although I am thinking of going somewhere else for some of the whole prey.
