I've ordered from them once so far with a good experience, everything still frozen and just what I ordered. Shipping kills although if you live near a reptile show you can get food delivered there, I just ordered a full box to get the most for my money.

rodent pro packs extremely well!!! real insulation in the box and a block (or two) of solid dry ice. actually seems a bit overboard.
i've never had anything arrive even partly defrosted - even during the intense heat we had here last summer. delivery day was over 100 degrees and the day before had been no lower than 92. everything was still completely solid!
yeah, you pay for the ice - that's what makes them 'expensive'. you can downplay that by taking advantage of their sales and also buying enough to hit the quantity benchmark (500) as that makes the individual price per piece lower.
also, using the greyhound express for shipping can save you some $$. if you have a greyhound depot close to you, it's well worth having to go there to pick up the delivery!!
that's about the only way to save on shipping because they only use one size box to ship - regardless of how much you order.
what you get with the gpx shipping is 2 of the regular ups boxes inside one large box - shipping charges saved are between $20 and $30. if you live on the east coast, you do have to call them to do the order with that shipping company, though - the website doesn't give you the option to choose gpx (only those on the west coast or in indiana get the choice on the site).
if that's too much stuff to store, go in on an order with someone else.
they do go to reptile shows, so, you can pick up orders there and save the shipping. they also usually attend the chicago ferret show, so, a lot of people pick up orders there, too.
i have found some things not packed right - items have been borderline for the weight range and a couple times outright below what they should have been. (2 ounce gp when it should have been no less than 4 ounces for that size and the mice periodically are light as well).
have to say though, that the times that happened with the gp's was when i called to push an order through, so, they were rushing to pack it to get it out the door...
i've also found feces in the mice bags. not all the time and usually stuck part way out of the animal (so, it's the death bit). still, it's kinda gross to have to pick this stuff off before feeding - worse for me since i give everything still frozen usually and it can be hard to get the pellet off!
all in all, i love them, though!
customer service provided = a++++ selection offered = a++++ range of ages of selection offered = a++++ shipping services available = a+ packaging options = b (only one size box used) shipping fees = c (they do actually over-use the quantity of dry ice) quality of product offered = a+ (even w/occassional issue, it's still suburb)

i use them for my baby cornsnake. even with the major shipping cost, for an example, $17.00 for 100 pinkie mice plus $63.00 for shipping it ends up being $.80 per pinkie. to buy one frozen pinkie around here it is $2.99. it arived when they said it would. i guess it all depends on whare you live and the cost of frozen pinkies in your aera.

I buy at the local reptile show, so I do not have to pay for shipping. I think their prices are extremely reasonable, especially compared to the quality/price of whole prey at the local pet store... The people who work for them have always been quick and polite. No complaints here!

You're so lucky to be able to pick up! I just made another order actually, out of rats and they had a $10 off coupon.

I use rodentpro a lot and have always had very good quality prey delivered still solidly frozen all the way from Indiana to New Mexico on hot days.

I just started using rodentpro (this time I ordered rabbits, gps, rats and chicks). Great quality, prices for food were decent, shipping is a KILLER and a bit delayed from what I'm used to (but I don't think this is a surprise). For the quality and variety, though, I will continue to use them (though I do use HareToday for adult mice - overall cheaper and faster shipping, they just don't have the variety of ages for them or their other prey items).

well I ordered w/ a member and all went great! Mine arrived as planned and as did theirs. I would say, try to find someone that can package well and go in on an order. It really offsets shipping and the dry ice is great to reuse and pack right bk up for your ordering friend. Worked out great and it can be a PITA to do, but the only thing that matters is great food for them

I've been using RodentPro for a few years now. I order mainly for my snakes but will be switching the kids over to a whole prey diet in the near future. Everyone comes neatly packed and completely solid. Great company and I will continue to do business with them.
With a company like RodentPro, its best to buy in bulk. I usually spend about $200 each time I make an order (which is roughly every 2-3 months depending on what time of year it is)

Everything seems good I just can't afford that costly shipping. I'll have to go to a reptile expo sometime
