could 8 week old kits be converted onto a whole prey diet and what would 2 ferrets need to eat on this diet each day? :

Easily as long as you've got sufficient supply and variety. What other foods had you planned on. I feed a variety of commercial grinds, frankenprey and prey (rats, mice, quail, rabbit). ciao

8 week old kits would be amongst the easiest to convert to ANYTHING ;D But yes, you do need a good variety of prey and ages. Which is why the majority also include regular meat/bone/organ.

Why would you still want to feed kibble? It's not only unnecessary, but detrimental to their health. Kibble drastically increases the chance of developing insulinoma since the pancreas has to work so much harder trying to cope with the carbs, starches and sugars that they were never meant to eat in the first place. As long as they are getting a balanced diet, I'd leave it out of the equation entirely.

Just stick with raw and whole prey! Their body digest kibble totally different than natural. Feeding the 2 at the same time will confuse their little body.

If you successfully switch them to raw/whole prey, I'd also leave the kibble out completely. It's just junk food.

If you feel the absolute need to offer them something on the tiny crunchy side - offer them freeze dried crickets and meal worms, and add these whole prey live to their diet too - superworms are tastey squiggly treats too!
Yep, kits are easiest to revert to their carnivorous nature because they haven't had as long to be distanced from it!
NO kibble - ever is a great way to start them out and to maintain them! All ages of prey items, all varieties - the more the better.
