Oh great I will keep the two meals of hearts then. With the probiotics and the famotidine - where can I get them from? is it an animal specific or a human thing? I blended the back bone as much as I could whilst being careful not to ruin my bullet ;D ;D It still has large chunks of bone in it and smaller chunks that they should be able to eat but today they do not seem interested in it at all last night they loved having a tsp each but today.... nope! I did put pumpkin in it though so maybe that's why... Can they eat the ox tail bones? I'll get some if they can

Famotidine is human stuff (original strength. Brand name is Pepcid A/C). Get the 10mg tablets The probiotics - I use benebac (animal). Any brand usable on a cat is fine It might have been the pumpkin that slowed them eating, or they just weren't hungry, maybe. There's quite a few ferrets who don't like pumpkin to be mixed (noticeably) in food. Oxtail - they should be able to handle that, definitely

The heartburn relief stuff? Ill go and look for it when the christmas rush is over I should be able to get the cat probiotics from a pet store? Ill look online as well. They generally LOVE pumpkin, but I guess not in their food ;D Now that the bone meals are up their poops are less runny so I'm pleased. Today they are getting beef mince and I have bones or liver in the fridge for their later meal. Yesterday they had a half meal of hearts and chicken carcass. The day before they had the pulverised lamb bones and meat and half a meal of hearts (I gave it to them too late and they didn't eat it all) Awesome! I will try to pick some up when I go shopping for them next

Yeah, probiotics should be available at a petstore - online might give you a better selection to choose from (don't get one loaded down with flavoring and the like).
Ferrets can be so darn picky, even with things they like (for example, Sian and Hiko BOTH love plain pumpkin; however, Sian likes hers room temperature [any warmer or colder and she won't eat it] and Hiko HAS to have his nice and warm or he'll catapult the bowl :C ). I wouldn't be surprised if they were just blah because it was in their meat.
Sounds like your guys are doing pretty well! Any more/continuing issues with any of your guys?

I'll have a look around for some then! I got a sample of a dog one that says it can be used for cats but I'm my so sure :/ I'll wait till I get the packet and post about it to see what everyone thinks.
Energy was in abundance today (maybe cause they stole all the cats Christmas presents??) we had some beef mince for breakfast followed by attempted liver soup which only Gomez has a spoonful of... Then pork bones (they ate just the meat) we didn't eat a lot though. I gave them some cooked turkey as a christmas treat too though.
Poops were ok but today they seem a bit runny again . I think this is just the girls though. When they poop they pee straight on top of it so I think it may make them look runny??
Merry Christmas!!

Yes, girl poos tend to be a bit runnier, just for the reason you said. Still, they should not be totally gross, or have a weird color/smell.
And no, birds besides turkey and chicken (though turkey, over here, can get pretty expensive, as well) tend to be pricey. It's no fun on my wallet when I order my ferts food (can't have chicken consistently, and they prefer duck, goose, pheasant, quail among their other foods :C ), so I can completely sympathize.

I am considering raising my own quail for them, and mice as well. I've got the stuff ready for the mice I just need to get a way to cull them. hopefully that would cut down costs at least. I can't find any herp people local to me that sell frozen prey. the closest is at least two hours away by car and I don't drive and I don't want to get my mum to drive all over town Being a student on a government payment with no job is really limiting right now with prices the way they are lately. I am hoping to get a job ASAP and then I can start buying more expensive meats for them

I hear you. I recently lost my job (over the holidays, yay!), but raising your own is a great idea - I'm just so squeamish about having to cull :\ I should probably get over it, though, ferts are expensive!
How is everyone doing?

Sorry to hear that! Especially over the holidays Getting attached is what worries me most, especially with mice because I've owned rats in the past. Everyone is fine as of today! we had some weird orangey lumpy poops from one of the girls but I gave them pumpkin today and I think she had too much of it. I will be keeping an eye on her over the next few days to make sure there's nothing more. ferts are expensive but so worth it

Their poops were fine today so yeah I think it was ;D sorry for the lack of updates been busy with the holidays. I've been giving them some fish oil over the past few days (it's flavoured though so I'm not too sure about it) and their coats look amazing

I completely understand In the next few days, we should probably have another weekly review (each day, list what food and what amounts, energy levels, weight (loss/gain) etc) because we haven't done a detailed description recently.
