My girls have destroyed maybe three crochet eggs in about a month that where in their cage. Socks would go in minutes. I'll have to get back to you on how long this knitted egg last.

Well almost a month an the egg is still in good shape. Difference maybe that I used a thick cotton yarn leftover from a dog sweater I made instead of the acrylic that I see being used for most eggs. I think I have some acrylic yarn somewhere so I'll be making one of each to see if it is an acrylic vs cotton thing or crotchet vs knit that is making it last longer.
Of course none of the purchased eggs we have are Derby eggs as they were all bought by the shelter while Karen was recovering. Hers look a lot sturdier than these are.

Great job Nicole I find making eggs is pretty relaxing when watching tv,and they make up so quickly.
