Question: They said they believe they were from the same litter (When I got dexter she was there).. But he's a silver mitt panda and she's a dark sable.. Is that even possible?

It is possible, depending on the various colours that went into the parents. Sable is the dominant colour, while all others are dilutes of that colour (not sure of the wording so breeders a good time to pop in and give us a piece on colour mixes). My understanding, though it's still vague, to get the various colours somewhere in the beginning was a sable and an albino. From there you play the game of mix and match depending on what colours you want (better hope) are going to show up. So, somewhere in that mix sable will continue to pop up even if both parents were silvers or cinnamons or even albinos. Albinos are another variant that may show up out of the blue. Heather (UK breeder) had a cinnamon and a sable (I believe that was the mix) bred last year. She got 2 albino kits but there was no albino in the mix that she knew of in the immediate lineage. Good recording is an absolute must if breeding for variant colours or fancies (good recording is an absolute must if you're breeding anyway but that's not what was asked ) I hope I got that right ciao ciao

Just because they were shipped together doesn't mean they're from the same litter.

Congratulations! Siblings have got to be happy to be back together again -- just like Sherry said, when Boris & Vincent saw one another again, it was 45 minutes of non-stop war dancing

That is true too. Marshals ships out on a by-weekly basis (I believe that was how it was explained in the article I read). All those kits go to a holding area, where they're then sold and separated and shipped to different parts of the country to another holding area where they're then auctioned off to suppliers who then either sell them to various petstores or they're then distributed to the suppliers sub stores. The petstores can order by gender and colour. ciao
