SoCo's my first kit and I mix raw soupies in to his food (i still have to slowly ween him off the marshalls crap right?) So right now hes on marshalls + 10% evo + enought soupie to make that into mush. I wanna give him all soupie with meat hunks like Mojito and Kahlua and I'm sure he would eat it but I just wanna know when I can do it? Could I do it right now? He still has itty bitty baby teeth (one was almost out and it was in the way of him eating so i got it all the way out, i have it in an ibuprophen bottle) but is it ok for him to eat hunks of meat with baby teeth? Bone too if i can get him to? I wanna put a chicken wing infront of him and see what he does with it

ive seen people wean straight off mothers milk to raw, if the soup has small enough chunks i wouldnt be worried about him chewing i basically took my guys straight off kibble and fed them just soup in the beginning

He's at least 7-8 weeks old (could be slightly younger, but most of Marshall's kits are about that age) so I'd say go for it. If he doesn't go for the straight chunks, make a very chunky soup and see how he does with that =)

IMO, I'd get him eating the meat and bone asap, whlie he's still impressionable. They can handle bone by about 5-6 weeks, if I remember correctly. In fact it helps with the teething. Give him a chicken wing with the meat heavily scored so it's basically hanging off the bone.

He is plenty old enough. Do it now. The younger the better assuming they are weaned from mommy. They should never be put on kibble.

Go for the raw. He's old enough. Here's a photo of my furbrat eating the dog's dinner at about 7 weeks If you think about a little brat who was in the dog's food bowl who had his paws wrapped around that ground meat that he had found. He was hissing, spitting and growling at everyone including the dog (who's dinner he just confiscated as his own) ciao

I thought he was looking a little possessive in that pic, Heather. Had no idea he was actually hissing, spitting, and growling ;D

Love the picture of big dog standing back from his bowl. What a good boy he was. As soon as I get the kits home, they are imprinted on raw meat. Sooner the better...

Great pictures Heather, thank you for sharing. I put gave him a chicken neck, heart, liver and something that looks kinds like lungs and like anything else I put infront of him, he took right to it. When I came in to check on him later I was like mummys sooooo proud. He ate the heart, liver and the lung things and did some serious damage on the neck, though he didnt finish it

Leave it with him- he will! ;D That's wonderful that he's doing so well And as he gets more experience with the bone, he'll be chowing through that as well!
