Hi folks,
Giving this one last shot here on the forum - thanks for reading.
-------------------------
I have come to a very difficult decision. I was just awarded a grant/job that will put me on a boat in the middle of the ocean for two years. I never expected this position and it's breaking my heart that I need to rehome my little family of four. They are my babies and I love them so much and I want them to go to the best home possible, so I'm starting here on the forum. I want them to stay together. I don't trust a random adopter to keep them raw, and I don't want to transition them to kibble.
I am in Seattle and I'm willing to drive about 6 hours in any direction (or further for the right home).
Here's the lowdown:
Four ferrets - 3 girls and 1 boy. All less than a year old, totally healthy.
Sula - sable girl, 11 mos.
Wylie - silver boy, 10 mos., deaf
Cricket - silver/cinnamon girl, 11 mos.
Sasparilla - silver girl, 8 mos., deaf
All on 100% raw diet since kits - ground raw and meaty bones, hearts, whole game hen, etc.
They are in a Ferret Nation 142 with a remote litter box that they all use 100%. They currently spend about 14 hours a day out of the cage and are 90% accurate with the litter box when out. (Sasparilla doesn't like to get her feet dirty so if the box isn't clean, she goes nearby.)
They are all extremely well socialized, friendly and cuddly. The deafies play with their teeth but do not bite. They love to play with each other and with humans and they love to be brushed and cuddled.
Wylie is a cuddlebug and wants nothing more than to be held and kissed. Sula gives kisses - she's also the escape artist and way too smart for her own good. Cricket is a good balance of cuddly sweet and smart/independent. Sasparilla tolerates affection but is more interested in playing 24/7.
They all love each other and they sleep together, play together, eat together.
They have a million toys, tubes, hammocks, and blankets that can go with them. I also have a Marhsall deluxe play pen with canvas base and carrying case.
Ideally I would like them to go to a home that's willing to provide updates and pics occasionally. They are used to spending most of their waking hours outside of the cage (I only put them in when I go to bed at night) so it would be great if they could go someplace with plenty of play time.
This decision is killing me, but it will make it much easier if I know they go to someone here on the forum.
Thanks for your help!
