So the Walmart Super pet, the marshall pet, and the midwest all have the same size panels 18" by 29" inches. The dimensions on the Ware ones from walmart and petco confused me What is your price range?

Katt, I don't really think any of these playpens will be escape proof. I've seen Jack climb the outside of his FN just to go to sleep in his octopus that was stashed up there; that's nothing compared to the motivation Koda and Kenai will have to be free. Maybe there is one that doesn't have wire bars? one more like... I'm picturing a littletikes (like for toddler people) type material? i don't know if such a thing exists though

I have the Marshall Pen and have never had any escapees. The only thing is it is a pain to lug around! Marshall's also makes covers to go over the top as well, if you've got some brainy crazy ferrets that can actually manage to climb it. Two of my kids can climb the FN, but they cannot climb the playpen.

I have tried so many playpens Reks and Pan usually find a way to climb over it or under it, so it resulted in having to tape cardboard to the tops to prevent them from getting over the top. Pan (our genius) figured out how to push the cardboard over At least I never had to worry about all four getting over (since both Sari our smallest, and now Bantha our biggest, can't climb to well ) I have been looking into this one for traveling (because we seem to never have access to a ferret-proof area when traveling : www.petco.com/product/112711/Pet-Gear-Blue-Octagonal-Pet-Pen.aspx?CoreCat=MM_DogSupplies_CratesKennelsCarriers

Buy the black drainage pipes from lowes/home depot, cut a slit down one side, slide the pipe over the top rim of the play pen. They can't get over it! I have some pretty creative guys and this works for me.

I have the Marshall play pen with the Midwest extension. I use this when I travel. >The only thing is it is a pain to lug around! Marshall makes a play pen tote. It's much easier to carry the play pen. I have two of them. One for the play pen. The other one I put all their supplies in that they will need for the trip. I call it the ferret suit case. For 14.00 it's worth it. www.ferret.com/item/marshall-playpen-tote/660008/I hope this helps

Some ferrets (mine ) will not stay in play pens. When Tomichi was a baby (still "in the nest" with mom and siblings) she could not go in the play pen because she would not stay put. None of my kids as adults will stay in a play pen. (Spoiled rotten little brats - LOL!!!) It wouldn't surprise me if Koda is a climber You may need to ferret-proof the pen -jennifer

Well I'm not sure I can really chime in with it being escape proof yet as it just showed up , but I was trying to think ahead and avoid that when I bought the playpen that arrived today. I bought the marshall 11 panel playpen, and I bought two of the mats that fit over it. I bought one for the bottom so I dont have to worry about messing with the floor or carpet, and I bought another to possibly use as a top if she's needing to play unsupervised. Also bought the carrying case for it to help lug it around if need be But the tubing over the edge does sound like a great idea.

How much were the covers? Would the fit over the SuperPet pen? I had to get that as that was the cheapest one I oculd find in town...

I have two Marshall's ferret playpens and one cover (it alternates as a bottom to prevent digging as well. One I got from a ferret rescue for $15, so if any fuzz rescues are nearby you can see if they'll sell you one, also Craigslist.
They range $35 - 55 brand new, depending on whether you get an 8 panel or an 11 panel, and the covers/mats are $13 or 17, again depending on size. Ferret.com prices.
