Plus the nights/morning that I am feeding the mix are times that my mom has to feed them or mornings that I have class really early so it will be easier for my mom if their meal is already mixed together and just needs to be put in their bowl lol

Alright then looks like all we have to do us get them eating larger bone in pieces! Can you take a wing, section it at the joints, cut the middle piece in two between those bones. Then smash the bejeepers out of them. Try offering it like that, but if they won't eat it, smear a bit if mix on it as a lure. Let me know how they do

The kids eat bone no problem lol and that is usually how I section up the wings. And last night Davinger ran off with the whole drumstick lol . Flower so far will lick the wing pieces, sometimes chew some meat off, sometimes she takes small pieces and runs off with them, so I think she is def on the way the chowing down on her bones. I think she is on her way, I also think the "competition" of her siblings has helped push her because she used to never show interest in bones so that will help her get where she needs to be. Thanks for all your help this past couple weeks!! I hope my kids are set to graduate, its to bad I can't make them a cake to celebrate lol Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

I've never heard of osso bucco, but as for pork, mine eat it all the time- they love it. I also use pork rib ends and pork button bones for another bone. You can also use cornish hen for that as well Can you get other proteins from time to time, like turkey, goat or lamb? Cornish hen is also an alternate protein.

I'd only heard of osso bucco as lamb or veal. My wee ones love it Sherry tells me you're ready to graduate. I think so too... Congratulations You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone, now. You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzes in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret (as I'm sure you are more than aware of) and throughout each their lives. Continuing to search out and finding more protein types assures covering all of your little ones' dietary needs. I would also like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create and adjust your little ones diets, you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Good luck, in a few days either Sherry or I will lock down this thread. If you wish to update your menu do so now as it will be viewed and can be used by yourself and many others at any time as a reference tool. Once it gets locked down you will not be able to post or change it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly . Congratulations again ciao

Yay I'm so excited!!!! thank you all so much!!! I asked the guy what part of the body that osso bucco was and he said the shank, it has these small circular bones in it that sort if look like marrow bones except smaller in diameter and a little longer. I bought it to try with my kids this week. I also got turkey necks which they haven't got to try yet. so yes I will occasionally be trying new proteins as I see them when I go shopping lol. They also had frozen goat meat..... wasn't so sure about that though.... Anyway thank you again for all you help! I refer anyone I meet with Ferrets to the forum lol Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards
