Ok, leave off the beef for now. It's likely too strong for them just yet. Something you can do to get them eating bone if they are eating chicken chunks is to chop the wing or neck up quite well, and give that for a few meals in a row. As they eat it, next time chop the pieces a bit larger, and so on. Until you are simply segmenting it, cutting the middle part in two, and smashing the drumette.

This is what I do to the chicken wing when I give it to them. Davinger and Amalia will eat them but Flower just licks the pieces lol

Since the other two are eating them, keep giving it that way for now. For Flower, how is she doing with chunks alone?

Flower just likes the ground/blended mix. She licks the meat on bone pieces and sometimes will pick up one of the smaller pieces and carry it away but hasn't actually really chewed on them yet. I only gave them wing for dinner last night... Maybe I will give them wing again for breakfast to see if she can't be tempted to try chewing the meat off the bone...

Since she's still on the ground, have you tried slipping in slivers of meat?

Ok well I fed the chicken wings for 4 meals in a row and most of it was eaten, I'm just not sure if Flower participated in the eating. And then last night I gave them their regular mix with some little pieces of beef mixed in and it was all gone this morning again, not sure if Flower ate around the pieces or not lol so I did it again for them for breakfast. I gotta go shopping today and try and make up enough mix to last me a few weeks.... Do you think I need to do anything different with the mix or it is ok? Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

Also out of 14 meals a week, how many meals should be chicken wings? And how many wings do you think for 3 Ferrets?

Out of the 8-9 bone meals, 6-7 Should be bone heavy, as in necks, wings, etc. you could give thigh or drumstick for the other two if you can feed more variety from time to time then do so

Also- you'll really need to keep an eye on just exactly what Flower is eating. Don't want her having any difficiencies!

Normally I know exactly who is eating what but since I'm dogsitting this past week the Ferrets are in the side bedroom and I'm in the main part of the house with the dogs, the dogs can't be near the Ferrets... We go home tonight Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

Ok so this going to be my new menu Sunday morning- mix (muscle meats pork chicken beef, chicken heart, beef liver and/or kidney) Sunday night- wings and/or necks Monday morning- drumsticks Monday night- wings/necks Tuesday morning- mix Tuesday night- wings/necks Wednesday morning- drumsticks Wednesday night- wings/necks Thursday morning- mix Thursday night- wings/necks Friday morning- wings/necks Friday night- mix Saturday morning- wings/necks Saturday night- mix The wings/necks will vary between the two depending on what I buy that week and the mix is blended and chunked, they eat the chunks better if its coated by blended. I also give salmon oil and pumkin with the mix. With the occasional button quail egg for a treat! So what do you think? Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

Only thing I need to clarify is the amount of heart, liver and kidney they get heart should be enough that it would make a minimum of at least one meal a week. So however many oz if muscle meat they'd eat for a meal. Liver and kidney 2oz of each. Are you planning on them eating larger chunks and whole bone?

Well I made enough mix to last about 3 weeks this time and it had about 1/3 of a beef liver, 10 chicken hearts, 4 chicken breasts and about 1 lb of pork. So it was pretty organ heavy ( I had forgot my scale at home:( ) I am also adding beef chunks to the mix.
Am I planning on feeding whole bone? I thought that's what the wings were for? And I am already mixing chunks in their mix, it makes then eat the chunks better if its coated with a blended mix plus that way they eat their organ meat.

Sorry, I should have clarified! What I was asking was if you are going to be feeding them separate meat, bone and organ meals, or staying with the mix you ate doing now. That way I've got an idea which direction we're going in

Well I figured I would keep atleast the organs blended up with some muscle meat and feed that with some muscle meat chunks mixed together since I have heard that ferrets dont always like to eat the organs... And the bone-in meals seperate so that they actually eat it and not just eat the blended mix lol ;D
