So cute I could just die. Ugh! Ughs of cuteness! I'm so jealous of your baby fuzz love right now... Good luck with Kahlua, she sounds like a feisty little whippersnapper. I'd keep my eye on that one!

congratulations. he is so cute. having a baby is very rewarding but they also try your patience more than older ones especially when they chew on things that they are not supposed to. he is a cabezon lol. he doesn't know how lucky he is that he has a good home now! Thank you thank you! The thing that gets me is he is so tranquilo its rediculous. I expected him to be jumping and biting and going wild buut not too much of it. Last night was his third day and he JUST started playing a little. Other than that he just kind of explores and cowers when the 'big ferts' come by (hes been afraid of Mojito even though Mojito hasn't done anything to him, lol, i think its just the scent) and he runs to me everytime he is scared, sometimes dady too but usually me. He will play a bit with me which is good but mostly he just wonders around, eats and poops (and sleeps) He started to be calm with Mojito last night and even half weasle war danced (hes too chub still to do it well) but I really dont get why Kahlua kirks out on him, he isnt really 'in her world' SHE searches him out. He doesnt even bite- anyone.. ever. AT ALL. Its weird. He licks everyone, he licks all humans anyway and with the ferts (he has already met my bestfriend's two, Aries and Nyxa) he just opens his mouth, he doesnt bite. Just holds it open, wont even clamp down (like when they play but he even does it when he makes his scared baby cow/goose noises. He is weird but we love him I just gotta get Kahlua to chill. Last night she was calm but still went after him, still can't get ahold of any RR

At the risk of repeating someone, have you thought of letting the little one bond with Mojito first? Yes that would anger Kahlua, but she is being a drama queen of a sprite (its always the sprites that seem to have trouble adopting new members of the business) anyway. BTW, Katt had a nice thread about when she introed Kenai. It took awhile for Koda to "get over" the new baby, but they reconciled. She can share better than I. Be patient, these things take time and right now SoCo is a little too small and too young to fend for himself (bitty baby, strange new big ferrets that aren't your mama). Let him make friends with the one who is interested in a new friend and then they can tag team to drama-mama to let the new guy in the clique. I have thought of that, my fiancee said it would be bad because Kahlua would get more mad and hate him worse so at first I didn't do it. Last night I left her in the cage while I let Mojito and SoCo play, at first (because of scent) SoCo was petrified of Mojito and would run away or stop and shake anytime Mojito got close to him, then he discovered the noise making lady bug and was too facinated with it to notice Mojito come in too. Mojito cornered SoCo in the very back and put a giant paw on SoCo's back and held him down (I watched the whole time, I pulled the lady bug top up to get a good eye and be able to stop them if things got crazy) so Mojito has him pinned down and SoCo is doing his version of a whimper (hold mouth open, release air and sound like a whisle or a far off siren) Mojito was sniffing him all over his neck where Kahlua bit him and then he starts very gently grooming all the areas while SoCo is crying and shaking and holding still with this really lost/depressed look in his eyes but the more Mojito holds him down and licks the area's Kahlua bit him (there are no puncture wounds, no blood. He is just super sensitive about particular places on his neck) but the more Mojito groomed the calmer SoCo got until he stopped crying all together. I was moved by it, I have never seen Mojito be like that before. He is a good papa fert. I was VERY proud of him. Shortly after SoCo stopped crying, Mojito waltzed out of the lady bug and jumped on the back of it where SoCo was still laying (though SoCo was laying inside and Mojito jumped from outside) and they started playing. SoCo even did half a weasel war dance! And the three of us played while Kahlua watched. I think she felt sad/bad because later that night, for the first time since SoCo has come home, she sat on my shoulder and let me pet her. She still wont play with me but she licked me 2X and lets me hold her like before. She still hates him but she is calming down her lil B-fit, I think/hope. Its funny you should say the tag-team thing, my fiancee and I had decided that if RR didnt work (which we havent been able to find) we would just wait till he was older before they were aloud to play together, this way he would be able to fight back, and my fiancee was like "He will be my little ferret, She doesn't try this ___ with Mojito. Mojito and I will train him like a Spartan baby and he will be big and strong and he will remember how she made him cry. Before you know it, she will be bringing him soup in the hammock, too." (Thats what she does when Mojito is being lazy. She scoots the soup dish over to the hammock so all he has to do is flop his head out the side to eat) He is really mad with her about it, I feel bad though... I just wanted her to be safe and happy and healthy. We brought home the baby for her, I wish I could make her understand that. I hope she will accept him soon

When she is out there are about four eyes on her and four on baby fuzz love (i like the sound of that, very francesca lia block - im rereading all her books atm haha) She scares me, thanks though. I need all the good luck I can get, haha! She hasnt changed toward him but last night she was less angry with me, maybe we're getting somewhere *crossing fingers*

It wont hurt Kahlua? It sounds kind of scary No, not at all! I used it when introducing Suki to Willow. Since they don't like the taste at all, they don't want to bite there and get a mouthful of it Only one it didn't work for was Lucrezia. She is so very territorial, she just found new places to bite where the cream wasn't That's when I finally realized I'd not be introducing any new ferrets into that particular grouping!

When they were in the tub and she almost bit his eye, she was just tryna dig her fangs into anything on him. I think I may have the same result as you had with Lucrezia. I hope not though, its worth a shot. Maybe when hes older?

Possibly! One thing you don't want is to have him too traumatized by her, but neither do you want to interfere too much when you do intro them. It's a thin line sometimes. Suki and Willow were a difficult intro as well. Willow insisted on attacking Suki to chase her off every chance she got. So I used the sudocream, and only allowed supervised contact for the first month. I had to try getting them to play at the same time, at least, if not actually together. Willow had to be frequently distracted. Some oil on a plate worked for that really well ;D . Also towel rides, and basically any game I could think up! They are now strongly bonded cage mates At least when he's bigger, he'll be able to stand up to her better.

They are now strongly bonded cage mates At least when he's bigger, he'll be able to stand up to her better. Hes a tough lil butt, I thought he had been traumatized by her but aparently not. For distraction I brought them into the living room while my fiancee was home sunday so he could help me keep everyone out of dangerous areas. There were tons of smells since we had friends over the previous night + Tequila was there to keep everyone entertained. It worked in a way I guess. She was usually too busy with everything else to pay him much mind until he decided to show me he isnt traumatized and he ran up and jumped on her back. She was going to bite him but then Tequila ran past and she went after Tequila instead. I havent got any of that stuff yet because we've been crazy busy between that, rent, anniversary while my fiancee is sick and Tequila had a butt issue. Though theyve been seprate. He has to be free roam in their room because when I got him I thought my friend had her spare cage still, she doesnt. So I set him up a hammock in another cage that is unfortunately too small to fit our food/water dishes into while leaving him room to move around. So its open and he can go up into the hammock (though he prefers the shoe box and Ive filled it with their sleepy bags) and his food and water are next to that. She and Mojito are in their cage which is next to that set up. Ive been bringing Mojito out and letting him play with SoCo while I play seperately with Kahlua (usually in the bathroom) and then I will take SoCo out and put her in with Mojito to play while Im playing with SoCo. It seems to be the best way at the moment. Since he's been eating meat (he is sooooo much better at it than they are. I've been giving them all soup (his has been mixed with marshalls and evo) but after everyone said that I can give him meat no problem, I put a chicken neck, heart, liver and (somethign that looks like lungs maybe lol) in his bowl (i left his unfinished crumbs in so that hed be drawn to the smell) and he was chowing down. The only thing he didnt eat entirely was the chicken neck, though he did some serious damage on it. I tried to put a chicken leg in for Mojito and Kahlua and they didnt really pay much attention, they eat the hunks of meat in their soup though so I put some soup in with their leg and they still only nibbled (I left it for sat afternoon - sunday night) I was sadly suprised to see that. I am going to make a more detailed (if thats possible lol) post + pictures in a little bit.

Hey- she didn't turn and attack HIM. That's pretty major progress! Just keep giving them supervised playtimes, keeping them both occupied, so that they are at least around each other.
