Honestly? I think his age is accurate. He's starting to show some at the gum line as well.

What I find so fascinating is that kits weaned onto raw never get that translucency to the teeth. Even Sonny, switched at 9 weeks old, has it. Kibble definitely has a far reach. I'm wondering how much the mother, eating kibble all through pregnancy and nursing, has to do with it a well?

I think it must have alot to do with it! what the jills eat must definitely have an impact.

It does for humans. Only makes sense for ferrets as well.

I will try to get a pic of his back teeth tomorrow.those are the ones that you can really see the difference between raw fed and kibble fed ferts. even at 2-3 years old with kibble fed ferrets you start seeing tartar on the back teeth.

Much younger than that. Had Vincent not started on bones he'd have had to have a dental done at about a year if age the tarter was getting so bad.

Show us a pic if you can. We will see what we can guess at. Ferrets who've been weaned onto raw show no translucency and cannot be age read in this manner. Take a photo of your wee one's teeth, both sides if you can but if not one clear shot and we will see if we can see something that would help ciao
