I agree w/everyone about the rehydrating. Before I knew I wanted to switch to raw, I used freeze-dried (fd) to supplement their Epigen90 (kibble), and and get them started on soupies. They still had the Epigen90 available free-run but got fd/kibble soupies 2x/day. I gradually weaned the kibble out of the soupies. Later down the road I decided I wanted to do raw. I was glad I had started doing FD for a few reasons. 1. they were already used to soupies. 2. I didn't have to mix kibble and raw, which as we all know can lead to upset tummies. I took the kibble out of their cage and left a little fd for munching in-between raw soupies. I'll warn you/her though..my kids think freeze-dried should be served at every meal. It was difficult to get them to eat the soupies without fd mixed in So if her new ferts are kits, I really would have to agree with the others & go straight for raw. If she still wants to include FD maybe she could offer some as a treat for good behavior or what have you
