www.reallyrodent.com/Last time I visited FaunaClassifieds there was a banner ad for "Really Rodent" ... says they're out of Unionville, ON and only ship in Canada. I think I've seen Canadian members say they haven't found many suppliers up that way, so maybe this will help someone!

The prices are pretty reasonable for a Canadian supplier and they are within driving distance. I've emailed them to see if they will allow pick ups instead of shipping. I also asked if they ever intend to carry other feeders (chicks, quail, guinea pigs, etc). I post back when I receive a reply.

Thank you, do let us know. Right now they don't carry anything that I haven't already got a supplier for locally but if they carry some of the other stuff, I'm interested ciao

They do allow pick-ups to be arranged at the Vaughn Mills mall (no charge) but for now they only carry Mice and Rats (he said that may change in the future).
Heather, who are you using locally? I'm just about ready to start the switch to whole prey / raw and Rodent Pro still looks like the best for me due to variety and price. If there is a local supplier with comparable prices to Rodent Pro that would be preferable to picking up my order at the US boarder.

My suppliers are all friends who raise their rats and rabbits for their snakes and dogs. Once the rats and rabbits get too big for their respective "pets" I get what's left over. My rabbit supplier decided that it was too expensive to be a full time business so sold out and scaled down just to supply her own needs. I managed to convince her to keep me on her supply schedule as my guys are quite happy to eat both the die offs (and there's a lot in rabbits) and her oversized stock. My rat supplier raises rats for her snakes. Both suppliers are seasonal. It's just a matter of playing search and find and a lot of leg work. If you can find snake/reptile suppliers you will go a long way to getting your whole prey supply at a reasonable price. Rabbit is the most difficult to source. It's really expensive to raise and breed rabbits

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll start checking out the local herp forums and see if I can find a local feeder breeder in the Hamilton area.

They have herp shows (that's not quite what I mean...not like a dog, cat or ferret show) it's usually a place where people can sell their snakes and reptiles and there are usually a large number of vendors for cages, food and other scaly type paraphernalia. A lot of pet stores post these events on their info boards. It might involve a little less leg work to attend one of these expos ciao
