I'm so excited (and a little nervous, too). I think that I am going to have Bastien and Melinda implanted to start - Melinda is just about bald now and Bastien is thinning rapidly I'm really hoping that the do well on the des - for their sakes as well as so my vet will see the results and decide that it's worth keeping in stock. I know he has other ferret patients although he isn't a "ferret vet". He did tell his assistant that I would get what is needed for my kids and then they would have some left in case others were interested. After having checked around and not finding any vet in the area that was using the implants, I'm really thinking it would be nice to raise awareness a little. Not even the one ferret "specialist" knew anything about it. Kind of feel like I'm helping not only my one babies but maybe some others out there also. And I'm really happy that my vet was so receptive to the idea...I remember he told me when I first took Bastien and Melinda to him that he had noticed that ferret owners seemed to be more knowledgeable and involved. He didn't seem too impressed when I told him that I was feeding raw but he never gave me any argument about it and over the last year or so, he's actually seemed to warm up to the idea some... convert in the making??

Should have updated before now but - life gets in the way sometimes! Got the New Chapter Reishi and the Super EPA.... Thank you, Mustelidmusk!!! no problems with getting the fuzzies to take the reishi (after being so violently against the other brand - gotta wonder what was in it??) I've been mixing 1/2 capsule of each in at every meal (4 ferts so roughly 1/4 capsule per fert per day) Melinda's fur (what's left of it) doesn't seem nearly as brittle now and I don't think she's scratching as much for the really good news - Des implants are here!!! hopefully can get them in this Saturday

Years back I had very adrenal girl. She already had surgery and melatonin implants. I get winter dry skin and found decent relief with a oatmeal bath. so I figured as long as I rinsed Lily well...why not try it? I used my bathroom sink and made her a little oatmeal soak. Ya know her skin was really smooth after and it seemed to offer relief from itching. I would just get a nice certified organic brand.
