Here is pics of the new bedding set I made them, Blitz is tired of being in the girly pink and purple bedding, so I told him he can pick a print out, so sponge bob it is! ;D Its nice and summery, and I made it without batting to keep them cooler.
And those custom litter box's are awesome!! Everyone needs 1/2 of them, they have been such a great investment! At least I love having them.
I get my custom litter box's at Kritter Koncepts, I have a total of 3 of them for ferret nation. The third is in the FN143 thats not in pic.
All together I have 3 custom ones for the ferret nation, and 2 custom ones for the show cages.
They fit soooo nice to the cage, and I use a heavy duty clamp to clamp it (i got the metal clamps from martins cage as well as lowes) The ferrets can't move the litter box at all, unlike those other litter boxs I had!
When Tipsy was around, he was a big 4-5lb hob, I had to use 2 clamps, and that did the trick.
Now that our shelter has lil extra funds, they are ordering them for their ferret nation cages. They just make everything so much easier!! The dirty kids that dont like to use the box, all seem to use these, they fit huge hobs (i had issues getting box's big enough for my boy), and they can fit multiple ferrets using bathroom at same time.
My wonderful husband bought me a new sewing machine for my birthday. I've been sewing like mad as I make cuddle cups for my guinea pig website. But I tried my had a ferret bedding, it turned out so well a ferret friend of mine requested I make some for her (I'll post photos of it once its done at the end of this weekend). But until then enjoy my lumber jack bedding I made for Beanie and Isis:
I make elastic loops and just ribbon or string to tie it down on the pan liners and for the top I have fleece pockets, I tried the way that rat tutorial had but I found beanie unhooking it :/ so now I have the pockets on the front and elastic on the back. So far they go under both but it doesn't really go anywhere. I also sewed on pockets on the pan liner for an area to sleep in and thats made a huge difference on them going under, though they still do.
Ferrets: Contessa Kitties: Watson, Oskar DIP Sinnead, Vincent, Boris, Zeus and Athena, Willow, Mr. Frodo, Indie, Lucrezia, Judge, Odin, Miss Emily, Suki, Cody, Aristotle, Butterscotch, Frankenfurter. RIP Herne, Ligeia, and Mr. Stubbs
That's funny, Paulie never goes under the pads! Of course, he has a fuzzy tube I made him when he was a kit to sleep in that is his special spot (his 0,0,0,0 so to speak). I have to finish the rest of Paulie's dragon bedding and share!
Thanks. Beanie was forever going under and sleeping under it so I thought, hmmm lets give it a try! Anyway back to sewing.. I have until Monday to finish 2 pan liners and 2 guinea pig cuddle cups. I kinda feel over whelmed but once hubby gets home it'll be easier as he can play with the kids LOL
