Katt - it's a plastic green super pet tunnel from the pet store!
As for the doors, they are closed! We replaced the two FN doors with plexiglass which is secured to the cage with zip ties, the tunnel goes through a hole drilled in the plexi glass! It looks like there's nothing there because the glass is so clean, for now! ;D

That looks great. Hats off to his design. I bet the company could make good money offering plexiglass doors like that.

That's ingenious! ! When I went back in I realized on the top pic you can see the reflection of the plastic tube in the glass. ciao

I have my two Superpets connected together via tunnel; it's so nice to give them the extra space when they have to be caged.

That looks awesome but keep a close eye on that tube. I had one and they destroyed it.

That looks awesome but keep a close eye on that tube. I had one and they destroyed it. Sent from my SCH-M828C using ProBoards I agree, very cool but they could destroy it if they decide to! I have that same tube and it's not very strong. But, on the bright side, if it doesn't hold up, you can easily replace it with a small section of black flexible drainage pipe from the hardware store! That stuff is nearly indestructible.

Thanks everyone! They absolutely love running back and forth between the cages. I'm sure if they really wanted to they could destroy it but my ferrets usually don't destroy their tunnels and even if they escape, the room is ferret proof and the door is always closed so they'd be safe. Thanks for the drainage pipe suggestion though Mikey, that's a good idea! So far it's holding up great though! I used those plastic connectors from the superpet ferretrail playground set, the ones they have on the stretchy tunnels too. They popped right off those tunnels and I secured them with zipties to the green tunnel on the other side of the plexiglass to hold it in place. Seems to be doing the trick!

Oh that is so cool! I wish I had a double wide FN for Rolo! I almost feel that since he is a single he needs as big a cage as possible so I can put as many toys etc. in with him as possible to relieve boredom. I'm happy the top level of the FN is sacred ground so it's his play area, but most of the bottom is taken up by food + litter boxes.
