Idaho Humane Society 4775 W. Dorman Boise, ID 83705 (208) 342-3508 www.idahohumanesociety.org/index.cfmDr.Koob He was a highly recommended ferret vet, everyone was saying he was knowledgeable and seemed to like ferrets. When we went, he met all of our expectations, he knew what he was doing, approved of a raw meat diet, could easily answer a question, and he nice to talk to. We are definitely using him from now on for our little fuzzies.

Thanks for the link! Happy to see the vet I previously used on that list -- she did the spay and neuter for my bunnies.

Charlotte Street Animal Hospital 208 Charlotte Street Asheville, NC, 28801 Dr. Beth Rhyne - She's awesome, very knowledgeable, pro raw diet. She even gives you packets of information (for those who don't do their research.) And she's willing to answer any questions. I highly suggest her.

Northumberland Veterinary Professional Corp Michelle Chiunti DVM 86 Percy St Colborne, ON K0K 1S0 (905)355 - 1622
One of the few vets in the area that I will trust with my guys. Pricing is reasonable. Will order in Des implants and lupron. Surgeries available but usually not her idea of first options. Les, is the surgeon and he has done some amazing work on my guys. She supports raw and prey diets and will discuss alternative remedies with you (be prepared to answer a lot of questions and know your own proposals and make sure you've done your homework to the best you can. She will help you with accessing vet sites if she feels your idea bares merit). She loves the "pocket pets" and has been doing seminars in the US to help her understand their unique health issues. ciao

Virginia: Town and Country Veterinary Clinic Dr. Tanya Wolshim Hypes, DVM, specifically. She is very pro raw (being an animal dietitian). She loves ferrets, is knowledgeable and is VERY adept at handling them. She is also very open minded and willing to learn what she doesn't know. I've only experienced emergency, after hour prices (this clinic does both regular client and emergency services), so they were pretty steep. Dr. W was nice, though, and worked gave us discounts and didn't charge for some services, since we had been in just the night before with someone who ... did not know what they were doing, really. (so make sure to ask for her, specifically). Contact info: Town & Country Veterinary Clinic 1605 N. Franklin St. Christiansburg, VA 24073 Phone: (540) 382-5042 Fax: (540) 382-6102 Email: Kitty Shelor, VPM Website: tcvccares.com/Companion Animal Clinic Dr. Matthew J. McCormick, DVM Only one who sees ferrets at this clinic. He is indifferent to the raw diet, but he does know ferrets. I feel comfortable taking my guys to him, though he doesn't come across as the most approachable vet, to put it politely. Prices are ridiculously low. $36 dollars for a lupron injection! Contact: Companion Animal Clinic 201 South Hill Drive Blacksburg, VA 2060 Phone: 540-552-6800 Website: www.companionanimalclinic.biz/index.htmlHealing Springs Animal Hospital Dr. Heather Jenkins-Brazzell, DVM She's not an exotics vet, but she's willing to see ferrets, and has done successful adrenalectomies and melatonin implants and she will order and learn everything she needs to about the most recent techniques. Prices are reasonable so far (though I have not had anything major done at this clinic yet.). She values client input and doesn't hesitate to do research, so I'm hoping my influence will encourage her to keep on digging and turn into a "ferret vet," but at this time I still thought she was worth listing because for standard stuff, checkups and earmites and common illnesses, she's great Contact: Healing Springs Animal Hospital, P.C. 107 NIckolls Curve Road Galax, VA 24333-4534 Phone: 276-236-5103 There's also one other vet in the Salem/Roanoke area that I'm currently looking into. He has a promising nickname as the "ferret guru," around here, but since I haven't contacted his clinic or had a visit, I didn't list him

Forgot to list my Dr!
EXCELLENT ferret docs... handle only exotics.
Dr Johnson Dr Eckerman-Ross Avian & Exotic Animal Care, PA 8711 Fidelity Boulevard Raleigh, North Carolina 27617 TEL: (919) 844-9166
Not sure on their hours.
Went all the way there from Gloucester, VA for their great care and the deslorelin implant. They love raw feeders and hollistic approaches. Vaccines are on a case-to-case basis.
Another hospital, this one the Drs are associated with one another.
Pet Care Virginia Beach Dr Fisher Dr Potous (many other docs, heard great things about them all) 5201 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Phone: 757.473.0111 Mon – Thurs: 8 am – 7 pm Fri: 8 am – 5:30 pm Sat: 7 am – 12 pm
Can't be sure on their view of raw and hollistic care but they deal with ALOT of ferrets and are the best in the Hampton Roads area for that.
DC Area:
