I'm sad that this has to be my first post on the new forum. I didn't post much in the old one, but some of you may remember Tesla. He crossed the bridge on Sunday evening. It was very sudden. He seemed completely fine earlier in the evening (according to my boyfriend - I was at a flyball tournament with the dog). His 3rd birthday would have been in April. He was laying on his little pillow in the cage. He was like that for about an hour or so before my boyfriend touched him and told me that I should probably look at Tesla. I kind of laughed and said, "You've never seen a dead sleep before, have you?" As soon as I touched him, I busted out crying. He was cold and partially stiff. I had a necropsy done on him today, and the cause of death was lymphoma. The vet said he had tumors all throughout his body. I feel terrible. How did my baby have cancer, and I didn't notice it? The vet is going to make me a clay impression of his paw. D.I.P. my sweet baby. You were taken from us far too soon.

Oh yes I remember Tesla and his dramatic coat changes. I always enjoyed his pictures. I'm so sorry he had to cross over so soon. He must have been such a trooper to hide his illness from you. It's heartbreaking that our time with these lovely creatures can be so short, but he was obviously happy during his sojourn in this world and must have passed peacefully. Take care, hugs.

Condolences on the lose of your beloved Tesla. The sad truth is that ferrets can often hide their illnesses too well and just soldier on with us none the wiser until it is too late. Also unfortunately lymphoma can get progress very rapidly and often does take the young.
At least Tesla had a loving home and died peacefully in that loving environment. Sending positive vibes that you can find comfort in your memories of your life with him.

I am so sorry for your loss. He seemed so sweet!! Look at that face. I lost my panda ws boy to juvenile lymphoma. I knew something was wrong, he lost weight dramatically. Four days later we took him to the vet...he was not e ven a year and a half. You just have to remember what time you had with him. Lymlhoma is fast,it could have literally happened overnigbt.it could have taken two months.its not your fault that you did not know. He could have ruptured something whileplaying but he was super happy just the minute before. And the only reason i noticed something wrong with my rob was because his largest tumor was in his stomach,he did nkt eat.four days.thats all i had, soup e every hour and pumpkin because we thought he had a blockage.
Lymphoma is the one i hate most,it takes them right out from under our wings. But look at it this way,you gave him the best tbree years be probably could have had. In those pictures he looks amazing.it looks like you took great care of him. Im sure he is rigt there with youthis.very moment.

Oh, konotoshi- I remember Tesla well And how excited you were. I am so very sorry this horrible disease has taken him from you far too soon. But they are very good at hiding illnesses, and lymphoma can progress so very quickly. DIP little Tesla

I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy. was he a Dark Eyed White? hard to tell from my phone. he certainly was a gorgeous boy. It is very difficult to lose them when they are young. but you loved him and gave him a good life while he was here. that is the best we can do.

Another star shines so bright, another fuzz dances to the merry sound of the night creatures. There are many little ones who are there to greet your beautiful, Tesla. Such a strong, fantastically wonderful wee one. He was such a brave wee boy to keep his illness from you. He did not want to worry you, to see you grieve before it was time for him to leave. I will light a candle for your brave little one, to guide his paws along that long road. Rest assured he dances that path in good company. There were many fuzzes who've walked that path this year. They will be there to keep him company until the time comes when once again you will be together. Tesla would not want you to mourn him, but to celebrate his life, his joys....he will always be there for you. You need only close your eyes.... Goodbye sweet boy....goodbye Tesla...gentle journey sweet boy ciao
