So I'm working and don't have time to grind up meat and bones. So anyhow, I decided to get some chicken patties. I split it with my boyfriend since he wants to try raw with his dog.
Anyhow, anyone else use prepared raw?

A lot of people use a commercial raw. I know Sherry and Jennifer both use commercial often. Make sure you watch for the veggie/fruit content. The commercial stuff for dogs is often very high in fruits/veggies. You might want to still try to get some bone in meals to help with their teeth (brushing ferret teeth is NOT fun).
What brand are you using?

It's Spring Meadows Natural Pet Food. It's whole ground chicken. The ingredients are meat, bones, heart, lungs, kidneys, and offal. I made sure to get the stuff not including fruits or veggies.
Anyhow, can I defrost it to cut it up, the re freeze it? I would only do that once.

Not sure if you can get it where you are now, but Urban Carnivore is a really good product, too. It has the entire animal in it

I looked at that too. There were three main brands where I looked. One was local to Alberta, Spring Meadows is from Sask, and then Urban Carnivore. So I just grabbed the cheapest. I don't think I'm gonna keep feeding it. I really wanna get her onto whole prey. Lot easier than when I had 4 ferrets, lol.

I use commercial grinds and some commercial whole meats to cover some of the gaps that I see in variety of proteins that I feed. I couldn't afford to feed it full time but as another component it works. ciao
