Hi All... I am waiting for the vet's office to open right now but wanted to know if Kitties symptoms are familiar to anyone else. Kitty is a female marshalls ferret under 1 year old I came to check on her when i got home from work and she was awake in her bedding not moving around much, warm to the touch, kinda stiff in the neck area and lethargic ...just looking sick. She had vommited in her cage..it was pinkish colored and leaking a little liquid poo . I gave her a little honey which did perk her up a little but she ended up throwing up while i was holding her. She got a drink of water afterwards and kept that down. Hopefully the vet will be able to help. Lisa

Could be a lot of things. To me, sounds a lot like a blockage. Get her to the vet ASAP. Do a barium x ray to check for foreign bodies.
Did she get into anything? Foam, rubber?
Also, what did her last poop look like?

I got her in to the vet this morning...her temp was low, i don't remember what it was tho, but she is staying at the vet's office to warm up and get all kinds of tests ran. Her previous poos were normal..i checked her cage and no bedding was chewed. yesterday she was out of her cage supervised and mostly on leash or held...so i dont think she ate something she shouldn't have but it is always a possibility. I am going to call the vet later this afternoon to get a progress report on her. thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. Lisa

Fingers crossed she'll be ok! Since it's shedding season for most of them, it could just as easily be a hairball

I called the vet's this afternoon. They said she had been sleeping all day and we are waiting for the results of the her blood test. We should have the results by tomorrow. It is way too quiet around here without hearing bells off and on from her harness.. Lisa
