So, Freya had this adorable jingly strawberry on an elastic band that clipped to her cage (ferret not attached): She KILLED the bell inside of it within a month. Since I'm going back to work on Monday and they're going to have a lot more time in their cage ( ) I wanted to get them a new one. Of course, I forgot that they come in assorted sizes....and I got one that looks like some weird kind of platypus (the strawberry is there right now to prevent corner protest poos ): My concern is the pink fuzzy stuff on the back, that they might ingest it & it might cause a blockage. As you can tell by the picture, Freya is in love with it (and already gave it a beating; I've taken it out for now). Is this toy safe to be left alone in a cage with them? I'm so paranoid that they have pretty much no toys in their cage

Just keep an eye out and keep checking it for damage daily. Mine have stuffies in their cage, but then they tend not to be chewers.

Thanks Sherry! I was gonna be really sad if it had to be another supervised toy! They don't tend to chew either however since it will (I'm sure) be stashed (...or attempted to since it's tethered ) there might be some damage. I'll keep a very close eye on it!

Willow's favourite in cage game is when I tie things to the outside of the cage. It'll keep her occupied forever trying to pull it in ;D

She'd been doing this for a while before I thought to grab the camera, so she's already tired herself out ;D

All I have to do is hang a blanket on the outside of the cage and they spend time trying to haul it in through the bars (Odin would rather you hang Fun-Go outside his cage but we aren't going to get into his twisted idea of fun) Minion likes his unstuffies and they seem to hold up quite well to heavy ferret snuggling...though right now, he's drowned the poor critter in the water bowl ciao

I use to leave toys in the cage once in a while (maybe once a week...) until today. Baloo, little goose that he is, dunk it in the raw soup bowl over night EWWWWWW!!!! lol

That looks like a cool toy and her cage looks nice, lots of bright colors! Freya has such a cute face too btw. As for Odin and Minion and Baloo, you guys sure have silly ferrets! Mine never do anything crazy with their toys In fact my ferrets all 3 seem pretty disinterested in toys in general! Maybe my next ferret will like toys ;D

I agree with Sherry on the duck to keep an eye on it. I always keep an eye on Oreo's little Fennec fox stuffed animal. I havent noticed any thing missing he uses it as a friend. and sleep buddy at times.
