Bonkers went to the bathroom like normal, then not even an hour later he had to go again.
This poop looked seedy and light in color, and for the first few minutes it was fizzy (like when you pour soda into a cup and has the bubbles at top).
Could this be a one time thing from too much Ferret Lax? Of course I'll keep an eye on him. He was eating normal last night (not sure of today since Ive only been up a couple hours).
Also, imagine a gooey liquid strand of stuff from the poop. It literally looks like Ferret Lax, so I'm pretty sure it might be that...Unless you can think of anything that looks like FL?
Worried ferrant!

Oooooh! It may be the cheweasels. They are fairly new to our boys and I've been seeing one chew up more now. I haven't really seen Bonkers touch it much though, but so far he seems normal. I still haven't seen him eat or drink, but he is still active and when I push on his belly, he doesn't seem to mind.
It was definitely a foamy/bubbly poop. But as I said, he had pooped before that just about an hour or so before, and it was normal. It may be stress too, as he has been wanting LOTS of attention, to the point he's been climbing up my pants legs and my shirt and onto my head.....So I've been trying to give him attention but then he wants down.
He's a little over 2 years old (by 1 1/2 months). I think I'm going to go lay down, but I'll be checking on him often just in case.
Thanks for the very helpful chart Jackie. =] I was trying to search for one hehe

Sometimes what they eat doesn't sit right with them. I've seen that before. I would not worry unless you see a lot more of them.

I'd just keep an eye on it for now. This will sound silly, but how did it smell? As in, was it really foul smelling?

Sherry - No smell as far as I could tell, and my nose was basically in it -__-
Taratee - Most likely. He's my skinniest ferret. I think I'll cut down on the Lax for him.
All seems well though. You just can never be too sure!

especially if youre starting to switch to raw, my guys had a hard time with the fat at the beginning their bodies took a while to get used to processing it and it was ok but im sure the lax doesnt help lol, wtih all things poop, hawks eyes on him and keep us updated

Then, yes- just keep an eye out. Vincent has had a bacterial overgrowth of the gut a couple of times. When his stool becomes yellowish, foamy, and REALLY stinks, he gets yogurt and cooked soups for a week.

My boys had that last year. Unfortunately I wasn't as informed about ferrets as I thought and didn't catch it until they were pretty sick =[
Thankfully the vet fixed them right up. I'll keep that information in mind Sherry, for future reference.
Jeff and I decided we think Bonkers is stressed from jealousy. He hasn't taken to Riley well at all whereas the other two are getting better with her. Bonkers is EXTREMELY needy lately, such as climbing up my pants leg, to my shirt, to my shoulder...and he will just sit on my shoulder for an hour. When I put him down, he climbs right back up. He is definitely not feeling sick.
So we've started giving him 15-20 minutes out alone with us and letting him into the bedroom (which they RARELY are allowed in). He was the first ferret, so now that he is one of four, it must be getting to him.

That's actually a really good idea to do. We try to get all of ours out for individual attention during the week.

Well, I knew we might need to do this eventually but normally we let the three boys out together and will concentrate on playing with one at a time, then all together. Bonkers just wants undivided attention period. Oh well, not like I mind really.

I really enjoy the one on one. They are so much more abandoned in their behaviour when they have your undivided attention
