So I went and got some chicken wings tonight hoping Amalia and Davinger might like bones since they like to chew hard toys. And so I cut off the end part of the wing into 2 small pieces and Davinger ate one of the pieces!! Bone and all!! It won't get stuck in his stomach right?? Will post the video soon Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

Bones are fine as long as you dont defrost in a microwave. Its super cute watching them chew on bones and get their hands in there.

Congratulations!!! That's a big step for them And no, it won't get stuck. The stomach acids are so strong that the bone is rounded off and then dissolved.

Congratz!! So exciting!! I always love watching/hearing them eat the bone, it's oddly rewarding I always feel like such a great momma when they devour the bones <3 I don't know if you have any pork lovers but my Captain Morgan is a huge pork lover and I was having a difficult time getting him to eat bone until I tried the tip of a pig tail, he went right to town on it. When he got to the bony bit he almost gave up until Mojito tried to take it from him, then he suddenly became determined as heck to figure out how to eat it, lol.

I love how in the first video, he wasn't quite sure what he should be doing with that thing. At least until he thought someone was going to steal it from him ;D Such a good boy eating on his wing! And in the second, it's not going to be very long until the other ferret(sorry- don't know who's who!) is chowing down as well! He/she was very interested in what Davinger was doing ;D

About that, yes. You may also want to make some really deep slashes, so he can actually chew some pieces off. Otherwise, he may simply decide it's not worth his time or trouble

Well he chewed that whole part of bone clean that it shows in the pic overnight and I didn't make any slashes in that, it even was covered in skin. I'm impressed by the little guy to be quite honest then after morning playtime when I put them back in the cage he didn't go for their breakfast he went right back to the wing lol aparently he like his meat whole? Lol go Davinger!!! Sent from my Desire HD using ProBoards

I should have enlarged it first time around ;D That's fantastic!!! If you want him starting on the bone, you can take a hammer to it to break it up inside the meat.
