Last time my husband cut them all up, took a picture of the plate and posted it on Facebook as "chicken fingers." I LOVE it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Don't encourage him I actually like the chicken feet as something to feed in the playpen, because they're not messy and somehow aren't as gross to find stashed in a blanket later.

I saw chicken feet in the grocery store for the first time just yesterday and wondered if this would be something I could give to them, thinking I had seen some posts on Facebook. Do you find them wanting to "stash", or do they truly eat them?

I've never fed them myself ( would love to find some though). I think it really depends on the ferret, some will really dig in and some will stash

@tessvictoria, I wish they were not sold in such large amounts! I think I will go ahead and pick some up, they're cheap, and see if Monster and Brandi like them. We have several neighbor cats, many neighbors lay dishes out for them, maybe they would enjoy them if my ferrets don't?

I saw chicken feet at the same shop I found heart and liver at and I did wonder if they could eat them. Thanks for the tip.
I saw someone say they were a treat? Why is that? Can they be part of a meal if you give extra other stuff too?

tanya The reason why some say only as a treat, is that chicken feet are basically just bone.. too much bone alone can make your ferrets quite constipated. But yes, you can use them with some other muscle meats to kinda make a faux bone-in meal, if you need more variety for your bone-in meals during raw feeding. Refer to the thread I had about it: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/22526/chicken-feet

Thanks for pointing me towards that thread. It does seem like a good way to add variety and interest.

Yes it's definitely something good if either fed as treat or with muscle meat
