Man man, I've been using a water bottle because Ophelia ends up wearing the water in minutes and I have to clean and refill the cage up to five times a day. Any suggestions? P.S. I only keep food and water in the cage so she knows where her house is, visits and sleeps there often without an issue. I generally run an open cage policy anytime I'm not working or out of the house.

Touche! Ours are deep dish divers & also like the whole dripping feeling. So they have a hanging dish that attaches to the side of the cage & is abit higher than is comfortable for swimming. They also have a hanging water bottle outside the cage - so that if worse came to worse & they had splashed ALL the water in the dish - they would still have something to drink. We also put out water in a tray for playtime & towels for later 'dry me if you can' ;D

I use a heavy ceramic dog bowl for water its about 6 inches diameter and about 3 inches deep and I have some smaller ones for food. I usally keep out two bowls in the ferret room.

I use croc locs placed a bit higher. Yes, they can still splash some of it out, but generally it's good until the next change due.

My complaint is with the little "washer women" Fun-Go is horrible. He will even wrap his head in the blanket and try and drink out of the water bowl that way. Whatever blanky is available is stuffed into the waterbowl. If it can't be done, then a corner of the blanket is added to the bowl and it leaches out. Inevitably there is no water in the bowl...and there's lots of water in the cage. I'm surprised the brats aren't mouldy by now I've actually removed the blankets on the bottom level where the water and the litter box is. Fun-Go is too fat now to swim in the bowl so that means as long as there's no blankies around then most of the water stays in the bowl ciao
