I swear mine are doing it but then as soon as I try to cuddle with one they wake right up and ruin my sweet moment by wanting to play hehe.

Reshi very rarely does the dead ferret sleep, but when he does he is really out.

I had my first DFS panic attack in years. Woke up early to find a bulge under the sheets. I lifted the covers and find her slumped against the wall. I picked her up and she was limp and unresponsive. I panicked thinking that I crushed her in my sleep. Then she started to wake up.
I forgot about DFS as I only had one years ago that did it. I knew that when she is sleeping she now wants to be near me but I didn't expect her to snuggle up with me in bed lol.

Mischief is a champion dead-sleeper! Dead-sleeping while her babies clamber all over her and try to squeeze in for milk (not sure why she's folded herself in half!) And after a long play time when the kits were young ... And little baby Poppy dead-sleeping! Although you can't appreciate it in the pics, they were all dead sleeps, this was how they were found after a long time of calling and searching lol!

What scares me the most is when you pull out a ferret who is old, and has been ill. They are cool to the touch, totally limp and unresponsive, and respirations are so slow that you can't really see them.

Mine rarely go into dead sleep, Willow and Bandit have dead slept once, Vinnie has done it twice, Jasper did it a few times but Nancy and Whisper have never gone into dead sleep, I haven't got any photos of them in dead sleep but next time one does then I'll take a photo or video I'm not sure about Jimmy and dead sleep, he hasn't done it yet, maybe he will at some point or maybe he'll be like Nancy and Whisper and not go into dead sleep at all. I remember the first time I saw one of my ferrets in dead sleep, Florence did when she was 3, I panicked because I thought she had died but she woke up as I showed my dad.

Some of mine have dead ferret slept deeply enough to remain unconscious after I pick them up and cuddle them for a couple minutes.

My deaf boy loves to do DFS. I honestly thought Gator laying on his butt was the only thing keeping him there.
