Not quite 4 years ago, a client gave us Boris, at that time 12 weeks old. 3 months later, we discovered his brother and littermate Vincent was still in that little aquarium at the pet store. No one wanted an albino, because of that old myth of them being more prone to health problems and vision problems. He was such a sweet boy, always giving kisses to whoever held him in the pet store. Cliff gave me Vincent as an early birthday gift We brought him home, and reintroduced them. Well, I've never seen two happier ferrets! They recognized each other right off, and started dancing and dooking like two little maniacs, they were so happy. Then Sinnead came in. She and Boris became bonded mates very quickly, and poor Vincent was the odd man out. But when we brought Lucrezia home- well! He found his soul mate in this tiny 13 week old kit He would groom her, and protect her from anything that may happen Even tried to get at the vet when she cried over the vaccine shots. I've never seen him go that crazy before. He's been a happy, healthy ferret, right up to about 3 weeks ago. His belly became distended with his spleen. We were treating for possible lymphoma in the spleen, and he was due to go back into the vet's today, since he was failing quickly. It was, unfortunately, too late Vincent will be sorely missed by all of us. A slideshow:

I'm so sorry for the loss of your wee one. I now know that Yuri is not travelling on his own, together, Vincent and Yuri are sharing a most magnificent journey. I will light a candle to guide, wee Vincent's paws onto his next great adventure. Another star burns brightly in the night sky, another wee one has left this world for another. No pain disturbs him now, healthy, sleek and magnificent he is once more. Gentle journey little one, though you will never be far, your presence here will be missed. Goodbye sweet Vincent....goodbye sweet 'bino boy ciao
