I remember reading a study where ferrets where feed on a diet of whole rabbits. The ferrets in this study died due to a taurine deficiency. I won't be able to find the link for the life of me now ..

I read the same study navcot. The cats were actually fed whole ground rabbit. The grinding reduces taurine as well. Which is why in most commercially prepared rabbit, you'll find beef or pork heart included.
