i think that this is absolutely true! but they get over it very quickly. don't worry about it. if you have kits they will be fine. mine calmed down ALOT with raw. you will see that they become lazier. during the first month or two they eat ALOT. they eat so much that you think "there is no way that i can afford to do this" (especially if you feed commercial raw). but then they will level out and they eat much less.

With humans, I'm not surprised, since we DO need carbs in OUR diets

Well he's still dropping weight quite fast IMO, he's right about 3 pounds now but otherwise seems back to normal? He's pigging out on food right off the bat again, playful. I don't know if this is dropping his kibble chunk and winter weight all at once or what the deal is. I've never kept such a close eye on weight before so maybe I'm just paranoid, he's not thin in the least yet but if this keeps up? The rest of the crew has dropped weight as well, but small amounts.

Well I dug out some records, and feel a little better about the weight thing, in 11/09 he weighed 2.8 pounds, and 1/10 he was 3.1 pounds, so he does jump around and has apparently weighed less then he does now. And this folks is why I should keep better and more organized records. I have ferret weights written in every notebook in the dang house.

I have a log that I keep on 2 separate computers. Every month, the guys get weighed in and their toenails cut. Also logged, any changes in coat, markings (roaning out, mask), eating habits....I'm actually thinking of creating separate pages for each of the fuzzes now that I've got 4 on Des. Right now it's just a spreadsheet. The more accurate your logs, the easier it is to refer to and double check against seasonal weight losses and eating habits . ciao
