I was wOndering what types of toys everyone has inside their ferrets cages? I don't have many inside Jinx's cage because I'm paranoid of her chewing and swallowing something. But yesterday I got stuck at work for 12 hours and she only got to run around for an hour when I crawled home. . That isnt a normal occurrence but it gOt me thinking she really needs more stuff to do in her cage to entertain hErself in case this happens again. Any suggestions? I've got this one toy she loves to drag around but I've never let her have it in her cage before because I wasn't sure it should be used unsupervised? It's meant for dogs but it looks like a mini fox and has no stuffing in it and the "fur" is all sewn on. What do u guys think? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

You could use foraging cups! They are great for in cage. I'll post a link to them shortly. There should be a thread about them in the enrichment section. You could also do a remote dig box.

If she's not a fabric chewer, it *should* be fine Mine have stuffies in the cage with no problems. And what you're referring to is a "skineze". Vincent and Zeus' favourite toys by far Here's Willow's favourite toy ;D

Ok great thanks I will look into these tomorrow as I might be out of town and near a petsmart. Are there other bird type of toys that are safe for ferrets? They do look pretty durable. And yes that toy is a skineze I love it I think I'll get her some more since I've never seen her try to eat it, she just drags it around and hides it

I went to petsmart after picking up my research assignment (which I got a 92% on! wooo!), and I picked up two foraging cup toys for Jinx. The first one was one that I saw recommended on the other thread, which was this one: www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3039780 and the second one was the only other foraging toy they had made of hard plastic, and it's this one: www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=18032 it seems quite a bit more complicated than the first one so I think I'll save it until after using the easier one. And was thinking that I could do one level of it at a time and increase the complexity as she figures it out? And I obviously dontw ant to put a bunch of treats in it, so what was the recommendation? Freeze dried meats? This might sound like a silly question but as I have never bought anything like that....where do I get them? At a petfood store? I also bought her another skineze and it's a martin haha I just found that too amusing.

Awesome toys! You can use freeze dried treats, dehydrated treats, even small chunks of gizzards. I buy my freeze dried at a local holistic pet store. You can order the stuff online as well. Casey's hidden pantry has a wide selection for a good price. www.caseyshiddenpantry.com/Great job on the research assignment

Sherry, what toy is that? I can't quite see from the video. It looks like a towel somehow affixed to the outside of the cage, is that correct?

Willow looks so cute doing that! And what is a skineze? I googled and only came up with allergy meds for dogs...

Jinx loves her Skineze She has a martin one and a fox one. The martin one stays in her cage, and the fox one is out in the living room. I think it's currently been dragged and stashed under the bookcase....
