What games do you play with your ferrets?
Mine seem pretty uninterested in playing WITH me recently, so I think I need to try some new stuff to keep them entertained. Problem is I am at a loss as to what to try...

I play the "I'm getting dressed game".
Well, I DON'T play it.. but Pixel does.
Every night when I'm TRYING to get dressed for work, she grabs my clothes, tries to run away with them, bites and won't let go of them, and wants me to pull her all around the house to try and get them off of her.
This includes pants, shirts, and belts.. sometimes even shoes!

My kids love towel/blanket rides around the house. They also like it when I drag their clear plastic tunnel thru out the house.

Towel rides and tunnel snake(dragging the tunnel) are favourites here. So is "toss the ferret" ;D I pick them up, very gently toss them onto the sofa(from about a foot or so away), and they launch themselves at me to do it over and over ;D Only a problem with our biter, because although we have to catch her, she frequently gets so excited with this game, that she uses her teeth ;D So we "catch" with a towel instead!

Games? haha Throw a blanket in the air, wait for weasle war dancing ferret to jump on blanket, drag wild ferret through out the house. repeat.
another game Roll crazy ferret on back and rub belly quickly let ferret roll over and run around a corner wild ferret *should* chase you, when they stop repeat.
Hagrid's favorite game throw a rubber duck, ball-a large one-, or stuffed animal ect he will go chase it and try to steal it. then take it and show him you have it then let him see it and throw it again!

Loki loves to play kill the sweater. If you are wearing it, he attacks the sleeve and whips his head back and forth. He has accidentally grabbed skin before (doesn't bite, just mouths) and stops his play to grab the sweater. We need to change the game tho, anyone else wouldn't understand and he would get in trouble We're slowly transitioning to kill the duck with a small stuffie duck. This is the only game he initiates. When we go outside the first place he tries to go is the chipmunk hole under our front stoop, we don't let him down it tho. If he ever gets a hold of it, the chipmunk doesn't stand a chance based on his hunting skills with the sweater and the duck. I don't have the heart to tell him that I'm pretty sure my inlaws cat already played kill the chipmunk in our driveway. ~Kelli

Mine like to "help" with my laundry...Particularly when its still dirty! (Somebody wrote a GREAT poem-thing about doing laundry with ferrets...I'll need to look for it!!!) Freya's favorite part is "hide-n-go-seek"...with my socks...in that she goes and hides the socks and I get to go seek them out Or make your bed with your fert...usually the first thing I do after giving the kids their soupies! They all congregate on my bed and do crazy war dances while I kind of "wave" the sheets over them. Please note that it *will* take you MUCH longer to do laundry and make your bed than it normally would when ferrets are involved

Aww my babies used to love making my bed with me, but our bedroom is now the only off limit room. We need ONE room we can be messy in But they are still an active part of helping me clean the house once a week. Takes twice as long, but at least they are entertained! haha I'll have to give tube and towel rides a try. My fiance greatly enjoys grabbing it when someone is half way through and putting the two ends together so it's just a continous loop, they go NUTS trying to find the exit haha.

LOL, my nephew used to do this, but my ferrets figured it out very quickly and would just stop where the 2 ends were stuck together, and claw at the ends, trying to get them apart. Then I made him stop because it just seemed cruel to trap them in there. We actually disagree quite often about whether certain types of play are fun or just mean. I tend to err on the side of not wanting to risk being cruel, whereas he tends to think ferrets enjoy extreme teasing Too bad you can't ask the ferret if they are still having fun! My rule of thumb is, when the play turns into forcing them to do something, it's probably not fun for them any more. But I recently learned I was not playing rough enough with my boy Fenton: I started wrestling with him more, and chasing him around and tossing him and stuff, and he would dook and war-dance around and come back for more, so apparently Fenton likes to play rougher than I thought he did

They love it when I make the bed (with them in it) Echo thinks his anfibios Water fight! Haha, I forgot, water is fun! Fenton likes to play in a shallow dish of water, Fiona likes to dash in and out of running water from the faucet or the shower head, and Finn likes to be squirted with water from a squirt bottle! I don't think he likes water as much as your Echo does though! Your Echo is a treasure, his high-five or shake trick was so cute I had to teach Finn to shake too ;D

Favourites which require no equipment except a ferret and a slippery floor (can do it on carpet not nearly so much fun).
Roll ferret on to back and get them excited roughing up their belly, then swoosh them across the floor. Mine then bounce up, dook and dance wildly and come back to be roughed up and swooshed again!

I do this with mine we also spin them when they're sliding and they get confused and run in the opposite direction. We also stuff one under a bin and watch the others chase the bin. We've got a few videos of that x3 what's even funnier is when you use a clean litter tray and one of the other ferrets gets on the top of the tray and rides around on it while the other ferret is pushing underneath
