I have to admit, I'd also make sure he eats the adult mice first. Once he'll do that, you know he'll recognize the mouse as food. For live feeding, most seem to start with hoppers since they move more quickly and are more likely to trigger the prey drive. Just make sure you can kill it if he botches the kill.

That's no problem. I used to prekill mice when switching my snakes over to frozen thawed.

Perfect That's the only reason I haven't tried live yet, to be honest. I can't kill anything
