I had this idea to mix up some pumpkin or squash (canned or baby food) with some olive oil. I know they love both on their own, but I decided it would be even more tasty if mixed together I call it "fummus" (ferret hummus)! ;D It kind of has that consistency, and because it has olive oil in it ;D Also, I had this weird dream last night where the slap chop guy was using it on some dead mice ;D It made me laugh so hard once I woke up... and then the twisted part of me thought that might be a great idea ;D You could make mice sprinkles for switching ferrets to whole prey, but I highly doubt it would turn out that way (it would probably be a HUGE mess, and you'd end up with a bunch of mice pulp ;D Now I feel incredibly lame *goes and hides in a corner* :3

I'm definately predicting mouse pulp with a slap chop, that would be really gross IMO. I can chop and mush meat no problem, but really balk at doing that to whole prey, and thankfully haven't had too, my crew likes it fine in one piece. For the other, I would maybe use fish oil instead, I've never tried olive oil on my crew but they all are crazy over fish oil, I've started using it for nail clippings rather than ferretone too, it's better for them, but downside I always seem manage to get myself lathered in it and stinking like fish! Ick!

;D I kinda thought the slap chop would be a good idea! Now can you imagine the company adding that part to the commercial "it even chops mice!".

;D Those slap chop things are worthless. My Mom had one .the food gets jammed up in between the blades and you have to un-jam them to get the blades to retract so you can use it again. I can only imagine how badly mice would chop it up! That made me laugh though!

I've thought of mixing the two before...but I love the name fummus! It somehow sounds like fungus or foot fungus to me. LOL

YUCK!
