You don't have to go out and buy ferret specific toys! My mum went to a music shop and got Salem an egg shaped shaker it was only about $2. He loves it, every time I shake it he comes running. He even lays on his back holding it in his paws and shakes it (So cute! ). If I had crocheting skills i'd probably use shaker eggs. He also enjoys hard plastic cups (supervised play only). He will run at them put his head in it and slide along the floor with his head in the cup ;D.

I've seen a number of ferrets do that with plastic cups, silly things ;D Those eggs are really pretty! What's inside them, I wonder?

I'm not sure but they're pretty much impossible to break

Awesome idea! Instead of crocheting, you can also put a sock over it

Cool! I wonder if mine would like the smooth surface, or if I'd have to put it in an old sock. Most of their shaky toys I put into a piece of an old sock, tie the end shut with some ribbons, and do 2-3 sewing stitches through the ribbons to secure them "just in case". Mine seem to want to grip and shake.
Good idea!

Neat idea! I might just have to pick some up myself.
