It certainly wouldn't hurt.

It seems to help. I use it on every little one that comes in and it works to ease stress. It also seems to be very individual type ferret as well. Rather like when Captain Jack and Calypso were surrendered. They both took off and had a blast. Into everything....a week later I was fighting for Calypso's life as she slipped into shelter shock Captain Jack on the other hand had hooked in with Fun-Go and was having a blast . You just never know ciao

Alright I just put her to bed. I gave her some more pumpkin, and a little syrup (which she desperately wanted more of since I've never given her anything sugary). I also soaked some EVO cuz she wouldn't eat any of the dry stuff, and she gobbled it up! I soaked a bunch and let her eat it out of my hand until she decided she had enough, and then I soaked some more and put it in a dish in her cage. She was alot more alert and moving around after all this, whether it just cuz I was annoying the snot out of her or something else I'm not sure.
But that's interesting about the flue. I do work with children, and although I no longer seem to catch their illnesses, the hubby insists that I carry them home and give them to him. He's not sick currently, but wonder if that's possible?
I also can imagine it's stressful with the move here, I got a call today that 3 kits are going to be able to look at this weekend and was hoping to go and let her choose one as the owner said this would be fine. I wonder if that's safe to do now? If its' a depression type of thing it might help her out to have a playmate, but if she's ill she might just make the kit ill as well.
I'll post an update in the am. Thanks so much everyone, you guys are amazingly helpful!

What you suggest is entirely plausible. You will have to be careful handling your furbabies when you first get home from work. Virus' that are not common within your home can directly affect your furbabies. Ferrets are susceptible to many human viruses which is why they're used for lab work. They cannot catch the rhino virus, so the common cold isn't going to be one of the issues but they are prone to upper respiratory infections. It sounds to me as though your little one is on the mend. She will still sleep a lot over the next day or so but you should see an increase in activity and appetite. I would be very tempted if you're looking to increase your fuzzies to probably take this lady up on her offer to allow you to visit these fuzzies and allow your little one to choose her playmate if she's feeling better. Treat her like a small child. If she's too sick then she can't go out for a playdate ciao

She did seem better this morning a little groggy and not entirely sure she wanted to get up (I don't normally wake her up before I go to work). But when I put her down she wasn't limping or shuffling anymore. She did still want to just curl up and sleep on me, but she was much more resistant to me making her eat too much pumpkin. I still did, but did it in smaller doses so I didn't stress her out. There was a bigger poop in her cage this morning, although it wasn't in her litter box which is all the way at the bottom. So I put in a corner litterbox in that corner just in case she was having issues getting all the way down there in time. It was more formed and rather orange from all the pumpkin, although still not a huge poop at least it wasn't entirely liquid!
I gave her more pumpkin this morning, got her to drink some water on her own, and she ate a bit of food once I soaked it but she was more interested in trying to climb around my counter. I gave her a little more syrup too just in case. There was no sneezing, and only slight trembling when I first pulled her out.
I'm going drive the half an hour from work to home on my lunch to check on her and redo all this feeding again, and see how she is. Hopefully this means she's feeling better? I hardly slept last night I was so stressed out I'd done something to make her ill already!
I must dash, I'm already late for work it seems, arg. And I'm going to buy a whole bunch of baby food today no matter how many stores i have to go to. Are the meat flavoured one's ok when they are with veggies? Or do I need to find just plain meat ones? All I kept sseeing yesterday was "Chicken & veggies" or "beef and veggies".

Glad to see that she seems better...you'll have to give that poo a good disection after work. I know it's gross but if there is some type of foreign body that has passed you'll see it. I'm assuming that the plain meat baby foods are what your going to need, but I've never used them so hopefully someone will be up shortly to answer that part!

It's quite possible her BG was low from not eating. I'd lay of the syrup for now, as well as the pumpkin. And if she'll eat the kibble soaked, it will be all that much easier transitioning her I'm so glad she's feeling better this morning!

So I'm a little late to this thread, but I'm so glad Jinx is feeling better. Pixie acted very similarly when she had a blockage. I was very worried Jinx was in a similar position.
I agree with Sherry, give the kibble mush and continue to watch stools like a hawk.
As for going to see the other kits, I'd wait to see if she continues to improve. If she is sick, you don't want to get the kits sick with it too. If her condition worsens, I'd take her to the vet. Ferrets get sick verry fast, and when they do go down, time is of the essence. Keep us updated - Jinx will be in my prayers.

I just went home on my lunch to check on her and she seemed better again. Not herself, but better than last night. She had used the corner litterbox between 8am and 1230 when I got home for lunch, because I made sure to clean it before I left at 8am for work. The stool was the consistency that is should be, or at least what it always has been with her. It just wasn't very large, but I don't normally come home on lunch and check her litterbox. It was still orange though lol. But it also looked like she had eaten some of her dry kibble (which I had dribbled ferretone on just to make it a bit more appealing).
She wasn't limping at all, and was more active despite me waking her from a rather deep sleep. I found some chicken & broth baby food, so I syringed her some of that which she was NOT thrilled with in the slightest. Which also let me know she was feeling a bit better because she was so not feeling well last night she just put up with the syringe feeding. I managed to get about 15mls of chicken baby food in her and 10mls of water. She wasn't interested in the mush kibble this time, but again it did seem like she'd eaten some of her dry stuff.
She did still want to lay on me rather than go exploring but when I did put her down she was moving around and sniffing things. So hopefully this is all good?

Sounds like she is doing better. Was the stool skinny and abnormally small? Did you ever disect the other stool she passed to see if there was anything unusual in it? I wouldn't rule out a blockage entirely yet. Try to keep her hydrated as much as possible. Fingers crossed for her recovery.

She's worse again, no more limping though, but her bm's from this afternoon/evening were stringy and an entirely different colour and consistency again. So she's going to the vets tomorrow morning .

Blockages can unfortunately move around, making you think they may have passed them, when they haven't. Keep a very close eye on her tonight, since you can't get her in til the morning.
