I got my ferret yesterday and all I have been feeding her is chicken wings because I haven't gotten any responses to my mentoring thread. Not complaining... but I just thought I'd ask, is pork loin an good meat to feed my ferret? If so, I'll go ahead and give her some. I also have turkey necks, chicken hearts and gizzards and ground pork (although the ground is frozen).

Go for it. All of it, though the ground less than the whole but it's good to feed anyway. Textures, as many different textures as possible too. As long as the pork isn't ham (smoked, cured or doctored in anyway) pork is a great meat to feed. ciao

Any meat is fine. As long as it hasn't been seasoned, cooked, brined, smoked, etc. You want about 8-9 bone in meals a day (depending on how bony the meats are). 4-5 boneless meals (this would be where pork falls), one of which is heart. And then your organ meal. You can also feed extra heart meals during the week

Well the only bone in I have is the chicken wings, turkey necks, whole Cornish game hen (that isn't thawed) and frozen mice. I thought hearts and gizzards were organs but I guess not? So I should feed at least one heart a day? I'll try to get out today to buy other organs.
I'll go ahead and try feeding her some pork loin.
