Do you live far from stores or something? Isn't there a 24-hour pharmacy nearby you could get some vaseline from? Or a 24-hour Walmart? It's not expensive.
If it really is a blockage, sometimes vaseline will do things that pumpkin alone just can't do. It could save the ferret's life potentially.

The 7/11 should have Vaseline. I bet you could even call them and ask. Make sure it's plain vaseline/petroleum jelly (off-brand is fine) as well, no added scents or anything of course (I know I have some "baby powder" vaseline floating aorund that I have to be sure doesn't end up in the ferret's drawer lol). I agree with Mikey, Vaseline can do a lot that pumpkin and oil can't. In the meanwhile keep waking him up every 30-60 minutes and push the pumpkin and oil. If he starts gagging and throwing up though STOP feeding him anything and take him into the vet imediately.

i gave him the same amount of soupies as i did water. i am going to switch off all night until his scruff seems normal again. food-30-45 mins- Water=half soup-soup-30-45mins water =half soup. i think i might go to bed around 1 so i am sure he has SOMETHING in him. i will update as soon as i can. by the way! he DID poop after eating the pumpkin, but it i was not very much, and liquid. is that what it is supposed to be? it was also soupie colored ( light brownish) not orange. i had not given him soupies yet when he pooped so i am guessing food that he ate before? he is still not throwing up, also if i hold him and try to feed him soupies he acts like a cat with its feet wet and tippy toes real fast backwards. is that normal???

If you don't see a large pumpkin poop by the morning take him to the vet ASAP.

Keep a very close eye on him. No, liquid stool is NOT normal. That is a sign of blockage. As is not wanting to eat(unless he just ate a lot and is full). Will he take his favourite treats? When you wake him up, does he wander for a while, or try to curl right back up again? If not, you do have an emergency on your hands.

I ment "is this normal" as in, the tippy toe backwards when i try to feed him thing. i did feed him another syringe of food and another 13cc of water about 20 minutes ago. he does not eat any treats ever! he did take a little bit of olive oil though, and he likes that. He wonders for a little bit and has been rubbing his face on the carpet... then he goes to one spot to sleep( robe) if it is to hot he will go sleep in a plastic bag. in the morning, if he is not better i am going to take him to the vet. the only thing is, i don't think i can pay for a 2,000 dollar surgery for a blockage:( we don't have that much money! Also, he does like to move his rubber toy around, its not JUST walking around. if he finds the toy he will move it. just putting that out there..

Um rubber toy? Ferrets should never EVER be allowed access to ANY type of rubber. Not even "chew proof" Kong toys. MAJOR blockage hazard. As for the vet bills, a surgery should really only run about $1000 (HA! I say "only" but that is still a lot) and you should look into Care Credit. They will cover the payment and let you pay them back in payments, kind of like a loan or a credit card.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- He just pooped! it was not liquid, but it was not solid. it was thin though but not like ribbons poop. It was orange meaning that the pumpkin worked! I am still going to keep pushing pumpkin until it comes out whole, he has not eaten a lot so i expected about the amount that he pooped anyway. wish me luck! OK, i know that sounds bad BUT when we let him play with the toy, it is a confort toy, he only gets it when he is feeling under the weather. REASON??? it calms him, and we watch him SO closely anyway! the rubber toys are ALWAYS kept up in the closet in a box way back in the shelf so they are sure not to fall and let the ferrets get into them Yes they are Kong toys. we however DO NOT let him chew on it for long periods of time and when he has the toy he is being watched. I know that sounds really complicated but i love my babies that much!!!!

We have a kong that is also used with close supervision, and well as the plastic bag scenario. These are fun items and the furkids go crazy over them but they are watched for chewing and other possible hazards...they can get into trouble chewing shoes and so many unexpected household items.....glad to hear the pumpkin went through-hope everything works out ok

Thanks:) I take the toy when i leave. I feared that the "blockage" thing would happen. I mean, Ever since we brought him home he had a tendicy to chew flip flops of all kinds..TO SHREDS! And we were so careful about finding EVERY peice and EVERY flip flop and he just found other things to chew! i wish he wasn't such a chewy boy :/ he is sleeping right now, i keep waking him up every hour and a half to make him poo, giving him water inbetween and every other time i give him some soupies. until he starts to feel full, i won't stop. i want him better!
