Guys I have been complaining to wysong about the new ferret and canine/feline archetypal formulas. It is all chicken and my ferret won't eat it. The girl at customer service told me that if they might change it back (or offer the beef as an alternative) if enough people contact them and complain. The food looks awful, my ferret won't eat it. They feed you a load of crap and tell you to feed archetype burgers and that it is the same. It is not the same. Different texture, big pieces of carrot (carrots are high up on ingredients list) and my ferret won't eat them. Luckily he also eats Stella and chewies but I really loved the wysong Can you guys please email them and ask them to please make the old ferret archetypal 1 formula? They won't even do a special order for me and I offered to pay more. Email is firstname.lastname@example.org. thanks. My poor fat boy he loved wysong. I can't get him to eat afs.
I thought the patties were supposed to be the old formula still?

That's odd because I have always bought the wysong archetype burgers, and it is the old formula for me still (I have only ever bought it from one store though). I'm looking at the ingredients now to make sure, and it says it still has both beef and chicken. I haven't ever found chuncks of carrots despite them being high in the ingredients list (4th ingredient), but I don't worry about it since it's supposed to be mostly meat/bone/organs (close to 99% like the ferret version I'm guessing, but it doesn't say). It's definitely a different texture than the bags (with more like chunky bits), but my guys love it the same. I break it up into pretty small pieces, and I really don't see much of the other ingredients.
Now, I just went to the site, and the burgers looks like it is the original formula whereas the bagged version is "new and improved": new guaranteed analysis and ingredients (all chicken and no carrots in the ingredeints list...it actually looks better and more like the ferret version). The burgers ingredients listed is the same as what it says on the container that I have (beef and chicken, and carrots as the 4th ingredient).
Here's the new and improved version (in the bags): This original formula is cold processed with our proprietary TNT™ (True Non-Thermal™) manufacturing technology, which uniquely keeps vital food components fully intact and uncompromised. It is a dried diet (99+% meat) formulated to closely mimic the natural raw diet of carnivore companion animals. Complete with raw meats, organs, bones, essential fatty acids, probiotics, enzymes, plant nutrients, vital micronutrients and more!
Ingredients: Chicken, Chicken Hearts, Chicken Livers, Ground Chicken Bone, Grass Powders, Apple, Blueberry, Cranberry, Plums, Flax Seed, Fish Oil, Lecithin, Seaweed, Grape Skin and Seed Extract (source of resveratrol), Mixed Vitamin E Tocopherols, Citric Acid (antioxidant), Oregano, Rosemary, and Sage Extracts (herbal antioxidants and preservatives), Inulin (source of prebiotics), Probiotics (Dried Bacillus subtilis Fermentation Product, Dried Enterococcus faecium Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus plantarum Fermentation Product, Dried Lactococcus lactis Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus casei Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus lactis Fermentation Product), Dried Yeast Culture (source of vitamins, enzymes, prebiotics), Dried Aspergillus oryzae Fermentation Product (source of enzymes), Dried Aspergillus niger Fermentation Product (source of enzymes), Choline Chloride, Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Manganese Proteinate, Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Copper Proteinate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin A Acetate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement. www.wysong.net/ACRHETYPE
Here is the burgers: Like the original Archetype™ raw formula, Archetype Burgers™ are complete with cold processed raw meats, organs, bones, collagen, prebiotics and probiotics, proteoglycans (chondroitin, glucosamine), and enhanced with phytonutrient and antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables.
The burgers only come in the canine/feline archetype, not the ferret archetype-1 unfortunatly. They recently improved the ferret one also, but it's pretty much the same, except that it has only chicken now, and they added chicken heart I think. It's confusing, I know
It costs me $35 for a 20oz container (of the burgers/patties) which lasts about 2 months (it is only one of the freeze-dried raw foods that I feed, and I switch bewteen them everyday), whereas the bags of the ferret or feline/canine archetype are $15 for 7.5oz which seems to only last a few meals. I wish they made bigger bags of the ferret one because I prefer the formula and the chunky form that it comes in. I'm thinking of feeding the ferret one again anyways (just have to buy 3 or 4 bags at a time) since I'm willing to pay more for the better formula. I have only been feeding the burgers for 2 months now, so once I run out (which will be soon), I'm going to switch back :3
The wysong site has a bulk deal for $182 for 12 bags, but it's only about a $10.50 savings
I'm confused since Miamiferret2 said she found pieces of carrot in the new formula which on the site, the ingredients list doesn't have carrots in either the ferret and canine/feline archetype bags They did make it only chicken, but that's about the only change really (based on their site). I'm interested to see what the bag or container says on the one she has.
I believe miamiferret is stating that the archetypal burgers are the ones that have carrots, not the new only chicken version. The guaranteed analysis you posted states it does have carrots high in the ingredient list.

When I bought the archetype burgers, I dissected them before giving to my ferret. I have found dried orange colored chunks several times and I believe that these are definitely carrot chunks. He won't eat the arch burgers, he won't eat the new wysong chicken formula. I also feed him S & C also and he will leave all of the wysong chunks in the bowl and only eats the S & C. I have about 5 or 6 bags of the old ferret arch 1 formula in my pantry. I guess when that runs out I'll have to think of something else. What I asked you guys to do (as a favor) is to ask wysong to switch back to the old ferret arch 1. Has anyone had a ferret that was previously on ferret arch 1 and that won't eat the new chicken formula?
