Yes - too many will throw off the balance of their diet as well as lead to horrendous diarrhea. The general reccomendation is 1 egg per ferret per week (that can be fed as one egg in one sitting or over the course of the week depending on how sensitive the ferret is). During shedding though, you can offer up to 2-3 eggs per ferret per week IF they tolerate it without upset tummies and diarrhea.

Want to know something? Even if their life span is shortened by developing something like insulinoma- your ferrets have a GREAT life! They have food, shelter, someone to play with, someone to snuggle with, and someone who loves them dearly That's a LOT more than some poor things have. I burst into tears every time I read your post as my Sampson had just been diagnosed with insulinoma. It's so touching and very true.
