Sorry, Things have been a bit crazy around here. We are in the process of getting ready to put down hard wood floors and the fuzzies have been stressed because we moved them out of their room and they are only getting out once a day (usually 5 hours atleast at a time) instead of having free roam of their room all day long.
Sam is sick again, horrible green/yellow poopies.. I've tried to keep him off of the chicken, I even bought some turkey/venison kibble and took away the zupreem *slowly* that had chicken in it and he still had yukky poops so I'm not sure if this is an IBD thing still or if something else is wrong. He gets to go back to the vet as soon as I have a break in my work schedule. My vet keeps wanting to push for an intestinal biopsi and I'm not sure I want to put him through that.. it'll require opening him up for a sample.
Leiloo has been doing pretty well, i've caught her a couple of times chewing on whatever I put in there. she really likes duck but I ran out =/ and I have to wait till I go to the vets to get more. There is an asian store next door that sells duck a long with chicken feet/kidneys and sometimes beef and pork heart. Its 1 1/2 hours away so not a quick trip. I bought a couple of chicken feet to try last time and dexter was pretty into it, the others were not quite sure what to make of them. She does pretty well with rabbit also, waiting on my next shipment to get here of that, they really like it but its not cheap to get so I have to limit it a bit =/
Naobi did well with some duck neck last week. I made some holes in it and stuffed it with soupies and had to dust it with some crushed kibble.. but she ate a fairly good sized chunk of it.

My vet keeps wanting to push for an intestinal biopsi You're right- don't bother. Even if you get a "confirmed" diagnosis, treatment is exactly the same. The surgery will simply cause a major flare up, and he certainly doesn't need that! It's quite possible the stress of being caged is triggering problems for him. Any kind of stress can do that, unfortunately. Try some rescue remedy with him, and he may just need some medication. Also unfortunately, metro seems to be the drug of choice when first treating IBD. And it's horrendous. If possible, get the vet to give a different one. I'm thinking a semi formal menu might be an idea when you get a chance, so I can see who's eating what now And just what they are eating. Great idea for Naobi and the duck neck, by the way ;D

He's got a vet appointment in two weeks, so hopefully he'll give me some medication to try out.
A menu.. hmm, well the current meats I do feed are chicken breasts/thighs/wings/drum sticks, turkey legs, duck (the whole thing minus the spine usually) ground rabbit, sometimes rabbit chunks, pork neck/ ground pork, rock hens, eggs, liver/hearts. I'm going to try out some kidney next time I go to the asian store.
What they will eat -
Anks- Soupies Vaeda- Soupies Hannable- soupies Sasha- soupies Gizmo- Handfed soupies >,< Auggie Soupies Dozer- soupies Sam- soupies Dean- chunks of chicken/turkey/rabbit - soupies Naobi- soupies - duck neck, duck chunks (small ones) turkey chunks, soupies Leiloo- soupies, duck neck, chunks, chicken chunks, turkey chunks, nibbles on wings sometimes Tasha- Soupies, chicken chunks, plain ground pork, nibbles on chicken wings Kodiak- anything I put in front of him except bef Church- anything I put in front of her except beef Berry- anything I put in front of her except beef Dexter- Anything raw not nailed down lol
Soupies consists of chicken that's slightly chunkier than ground chicken, usually a mix of breast/thighs, ground pork, ground rabbit, liver (pork or chicken) chicken hearts, olive oil, taurine/egg shell supplements, egg yolk/whites, sometimes a little ground beef or chunks of duck and duck skin/fat, pumpkin.. sometimes I add in a little bit of heavy whipping cream if I have some thats fresh.
Everyone gets soupies x2 a day, fresh meat in their den 1-2 times a day (big kids get 2, dexter usually eats one whole piece of whatever himself) and then the kibble brats still have kibble at night.

Oh and usually for anks, hannable, sasha, gizmo and dozer I have to crush up some kibble and sprinkle it on top of the soupies to get them going =/

I can't remember right now- you don't have anyone with insulinoma do you? If not, let's ditch the kibble entirely for a couple of days, see if we can start pushing the laggards along some more. Also, start cutting up some slivers, and top it with soupies for those not eating that yet. Let me know how that goes.

Not that I know of.
I'm going to give it a try today, I opted not to do it when I had to work (the past four nights) because i'd be asleep during the day and my boyfriend would be at work. I want to keep a close eye on Sam in particular.

Sounds good. Just for your own sanity, we've got to get some of these little ones moving along The ones who eat chunks/bone in- no problem with heart and liver there?

Those that will eat chunks/bone will eat heart with olive oil on it but I still have to make liver soupies to get them to eat that. That usually consists of liver/ ground pork with some chicken chunks (not a whole lot) and some pumpkin.
They have been getting alot of pumpkin here lately, alot of them are losing their winter coats.. except Naobi, she seems to have her seasons backwards and her coat got thicker and alot softer O.o

Sasha Gizmo Dozer and Aks are making it pretty hard. They ate a little bit of soupies in the morning but flat out refused the rest of the day. Everyone else has been eating, some not quite as much as usual though. Sam and Naobi havent eaten a whole lot, I do worry about sam not eating.
I can hold out on the four trouble makers over night but I wont be awake to know if they do or dont eat =/

If all are healthy, try going without the kibble in the cage for about 12 hours anyway. Leave it out all day, offer the soupies, hand feeding if needed, then put the kibble back in at night. Although you may wind up just holding these four where they are til the rest are completely switched over.

I got some frozen mice from petsmart for dexter. What's the best way to go about introducing him to it?

What size did you get? You could try cutting them open, see if he'll go for them. I had to start with pinkies chopped up for mine But Dexter started young on raw, so give it a shot. If he won't take them(some can't get past the fur to start), then pick up some pinkies, chop them up while frozen, and mix them in with the reg. meat.

They are adult mice, I didnt ask if they had pinkies, does petsmart usually sell those? I think i'll try and offer one tomarrow for breakfast, he's already ate a pork neck and half a chicken wing already today and i'm sure he'll finish it off tonight.
